As it's SP i think it wouldn't be bad not to have those extreme effects, so prolly it would be smart to just change the graphics that are (?) overlayed a bit...
Also it'd be easier than to fiddle with compiled python files...
Aaahh, but don't think i know where and what to change
and that i could tell you...

......hmmm, I'm also troubled about that "blood-shot eye" effect, and as busy as he probably is, I'm grateful for the time that Raw-Homicidal took to post his "quick-tip".
HOWEVER, Raw-Homicidal also posed a question - How will we know that we're in critical condition without the effect?
Suggestion/Solution for the next version - How about leaving the sound effect in, as a cue to the gamer to view his "condition bar" either on the lower left or right of the screen?

well, im sorry to say ive been pretty lazy as for as PR is concerned lately.
some less than pleasent events have unfolded and i havnt played PR for almost two weeks now.
I think i need a break.
edit: im sorry guys this has no relevence to this thread. im just saying my small amount of help ends here temporaily
edit x 2: even though i think this is a pointless addition as far as a Reality mod is concerned i will look into it briefly.
but DO NOT EXPECT any answers until sunday when i have a full day off from work and the old lady.

Bump, that Sunday is in the past now, get back here!
I'm wondering the same thing actually, back in 0.809 you could turn them off by running through BF2.exe since PR used it's own .exe, but now 0.85 uses BF2.exe again.
Also when I played 0.809 SP via Bf2.exe I had a much better FPS rate while all the PR's shaders and effects lagged the **** out of my PC and still do now.

No guarantee this will work, so make a back up copy of the clientarchives.con file beforehand.
Open up the file, (located in the main pr_sp_08 folder)
A look inside will give you the info below...
Add the rem line before the specified line like below

save the file and see if it makes a diff in game.var v_ex
fileManager.fileExists shaders_client_pr.zip -> v_ex

Works fantastic! there is still some suppression effects there but no where neer as agressive as what it was . The blood effect is still there wich does not bother me .
Thank you very much!

Re: suppression effects / Blood effects . Can i turn them off?
glad it worked out to your liking.
Remember, however (and this goes for anybody who edits this file) that if you play on a Coop server, you might get a CTD before you enter the game or soon after?
In 0.7, taking out the shaders didn't seem to matter, so maybe there is no concern, but just a heads up.

Re: suppression effects / Blood effects . Can i turn them off?
Thank you, SgtMajor Ballard, but it did not work for me.
ops: That is, I noted no difference, but I'm glad it worked for ***_kikr.
I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if the bloodshot and blurred vision were the result of being close to a grenade or mortar impact, but (for me), it's a dreaded pain not to be able to cover the medic while your still capable of laying suppressive fire..

Well with me the suppression effect is minimal . Its like the old bf2 suppression now . And also you know if you get hurt and see the blood and you wait to long it goes all white and shakey well now it just shakes but with no white across the screen.
