[List] Was it really better before?

Post by Farks »

List things from the "good 'ol days", in the old versions of PR people are so nostalgic about for some reason.

#1 - The 1337 american spec-ops in 0.4 with the laser M4 and parachute.
#2 - Kashan Desert in 0.6. It was a real nightmare now when you look back at it... Crappy AA, solo tanks, etc.

Continue the list...

Unlimited autorifleman kits... oh yeahhhhhh

What was that taken out in.. like .3 or .4? I dont remember... I just remember playing Strike At Karkand singleplayer with PR-minimod installed, lazer SAW firing away mowing down bots by the hundreds and taking in the "realism"

:P Hahah, but seriously, I saw the direction PR was going with that early stage, but looking back it was pretty ridiculous, at least in singleplayer with the bots not up to snuff

Yes.

Because of certain things which I won´t mention, less popularity, and in general a much friendlier and fun to play with player base.

Well, one answer was in response to your thread title, mine was to things we're nostalgic about, and so was Rico's... What DO you want then if not these? :)

STEEL THUNDERRRRRRR!!!! and that old map where u had chinese vs US in some sort of jungle with boats, apcs and jeeps, cant remember the name but that map was so awesome. You had like this really tall grass where you could hide so well, and I believe it was one of the first maps that had such grass. It really blew me away back then.

But, to be honest, as the game is now, its better than before, and it will continue to go uphill, because everything that changes now, changes with the aim for reality.

- Snipers where 1 shot kill if hit in chest or above (sometimes leg and knee counted too)

0.6
accurate weapons
stronger deployables
less kit restrictions
better players usually due to popularity

It was much more fun, and more realistic in some ways
