[AAR] Staying alive

Post by smee »

T&T server

Well last night was a normal PR night but thought would dust off the SL hat. And what a good night. Started with a Operation Barricuda which was a good victory ( nice to see a commander ) but that wasn't the shocker it was the insurgency maps we played afterwards.

With Archer was nice to have people work as a squad that didn't mind following orders and what a diffference. To start with we spawned on the hill set up hide and waited for any incoming forces. The US set a firebase to the west of town at the fortified position.

So getting the squad to flank out to the west we flanked round, using the gullies and even ducking down when huey's flew over. We built hide then launched an attack. Taking them by surprise we overran their FOB and cleaned it out. A successfully assault. With no losses. We then came under fire from a marksman who for some reason was close to the site without any squad support. We then went Marksman hunting which ended up like a round up of a sheep with 4 of us coming to the same pint. This was the start of getting US kits. At one point we had both of the US marksman kits "Result" We totalled 28kills for only 16 deaths With the medic doing an outstanding job.

But the pièce de résistance was attacking Outpost on Korengal Started with building Hide to the east then using grapnel to assault the east a successful assault without any deaths I went down but was revived. We then made it hell on the valley below providing lots of HMG support on the road. Especially with the captured SAW and sniper kit ( many thanks US ). We held the Outpost for the rest of the round 23 kills from the outpost to those below. We were nearly nill deaths till stingray fell off the walls and we tried to get him back. His cries weren't coming up our finally deaths was 4 but think that's pretty awesome. With the capture of US main was the end of the US and end of the night for me. We didn't get top squad but we were part of a good victory.

Great work guys.

Yeh gotta say the gameplay last night on TnT was awesome

i loved the barracuda round. Was in the SL as the representative of the air trans squad getting lots of intel on AA positions and what was going on in the 'shit'. was really helpful and awesome

you were also a good customer on that round smee i thank you, shame the ambitious silo assault didn't go as well planned as we'd hoped for. (also i didn't die carebear :P )

didn't play much of archer due to net issues, but korengal was E P I C.

my squad defended the same cache for pretty much the entire map, unfortunatly due to my general taliban SL retardiness i keep forgetting RPs, but i put one in the caves which got overrun, which left me on my tod to defend the cache whilst the squad got a technical and raced over to the cache area.

I said a quick prayer to allah who in his infinite wisdom gave me the power of 'allah mode' which is much superior to the infidels "god mode". in the space of about 5mins i had personally killed 20 americans by running around little corners, hiding in buildings shooting out of windows, shooting through holes in the walls and generally creating confusion. with 20 - 0 i was rather impressed as was IAJTHOMAS who was being a sissy sniper :P sadly once rudd showed up in reinforcement there was one cheeky american and allah decided it was time for me to meet the virgins i had worked for and despite valant medical attempts from my squad my reign of terror was over

the best bit was probably the squad name, Rico had started a squad titled byebyerico coz the lucky git is going on holiday for a month, so i thought it appropriate in a bit of humour for the squads title, which was proudly shown to all the players on the server after the round had ended!

so yeh, awesome games, awesome teamwork, epic win

Like I said on the server one of my best and most fun PR games in a while! Thanks everyone! Its also good to see more people felt like this :D Good story's!

I for once wasnt the medic in Sarge's infantry squad but was a regular rifleman. I dont know what got in to me but I felt like a Rambo with my 19 kills or something :P Not that PR is about kills but just how I played that round with my squad was epic. Running back and forth in that beach fortification to check how rudd's guys where doing, informing SL, storming docks with my sl behind me. Everything went as a well oiled machine!

We overrun docks in 2 attemps when the first attack failed, we got back in from the west beach, deployed a fire-team to cover the assault team and went in there. It really looked like we where to fast for the defenders. They where still firing on the fire-team up on the hill. Than Sarge and me came around the corner and literaly hosed them down :P

Only down side was when we hatted our own chopper

was some damb fun on barracuda! kept the huey up for an hour until i ran into a storm of 50. hitting the beach fortifications,

did some hella hot insertions too :P , one dropping matty behind Chinese firebase with a FAV steaming down the road blasting away, quickly managed to take off and dropped a supply crate as i usually do when dropping someone off, next thing i hear from matty on ts, 'Carebear you just destroyed that FAV with the crate!!'

and yer seemed like an unsuccessful attack on silo, drop off the squad fly back to carrier, and there standing there waiting for a helo... :P

One moment in that Barracuda round, with the firebase on the airfield and hueys just parked around it in a circle, looked perfect.
I must say though, my favourite round last night was Muttrah - My squad stayed conservative and set up Firebases at and looked after our front line. Destroyed the cobra both times it spawned, and all 4 APCs thrown at us. A very good round. 0 Deaths for me, due to my awesome squad. Cheers lads.

I wish I had the chance to stay on for those rounds....Aye Muttrah last night was good fun, and it was made all the more epic with the round only starting with our squad of 6 grunts.
By the time time we had the 1st fob up Hexy was knocking everything from the sky and the Lat and Hat guys were fighting off all comers, the server filled up in a blink of an eye, and we did the important job of providing a rock steady base line for the the rest of the team to assault into the city and the docks. So thankyou SqnLdr for leading the way and giving the squad a great game.
