Hello, new here and need help ...
I purchased BF2 yesterday and since have found out about this mod.
My question is, what exact files do I need to install for this reality mod? Thanks.

Hello!
this thread here should get you started https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... guide.html
take your time to look around the forums, especially guides and of course the manual, these will explain alot of basic features that might seem strange at first. After that maybe have a go on a training server to get a feel for weapons and vehicles (though i'd suggest leaving vehicles for a bit)
after that hop onto a normal server and join a squad, let the SL know you're new, (s)he'll either be an arse in which case join another or (s)he'll help you along and show you the ropes
another big thing, it helps alot to have a mic

(Edit: Darn, Ninja'd)
Firstly the BF2 1.41 patch, if that's not installed already (probably comes with newer copies of BF2)
then
Project Reality 0.86 Core
and
Project Reality 0.86 Levels
In this order. It's also strongly recommended to have a working mic for VoIP. If you're interested in positional VoIP, you might also read in the forums a bit about a nice third party program called Mumble.
Make sure to read the manual, feel free to ask anything else you need, and welcome to the mod!

Don't talk to Wicca! He rots your soul he does!
On an entirely separate note, having a microphone makes a world of difference to your playing experience, I would advise you invest in one if you do not have one already.

Holy 'powder burns' Batman, the size of those files is wicked. I assume I need the patch too.
Yes I have a working mic. Looking forward to playing this mod.
The download times are killing me, lol. (4.5 hours)
Are there a lot of players?

you think the download times are bad, the hours it'll steal from you are a bit bigger!McNub wrote:

most weekdays there are at least around 5 or 6 full servers (64 players) with plenty others with high populations.
from a US point of view servers like TG, TCC, Chicago and texas teamplay always seem to be populated.
weekends of course theres more!

Theirs always a server to be had. Even during the late hours , their will be a full server or two. In peak times I've had to scroll down to not see a full server.

First blood on the battlefield!
You know it is part of Japanese Samurai teaching that a man achives great honour on being the first to meet his enemy in combat. im just trying to offer him that honour!
Eyeball to eyeball!
Dude, PR is gonna change your life!
Its going to evolve you to become a better person, and will in all circumstance give you godlike abilities such as, moonwalking, aswell as other abilities from Chuck norris himself.
So? Do you have a mic? Will you get Xfire and are you going to use mumble?

I lol'd Wicca, but I like you enthusiasm for breaking in the new players. Let's just hope you show them how good team-work and communication can make a whole world of difference in your enjoyment of the game.

Be careful with Wicca he is enough to make you stop with Mumble and suddenly have mic problems...how much would I like to meet him in person.
As Norwegians go Himaldi is cool, calm and seems a pleasant chap.
If you prefer the kind of relationship that involves arguments and shouting Wiccas your man!

Norwegian appreciation thread?

Sorry for the OT, McNub, just find a server, read the manual, join a squad with Voip, and that's the easiest way to get into it.
Some SLs are a bit anal about having new guys in their squad, but most aren't, and if you tell them you're new and you use Voip and mumble, you'll get into the swing of it quickly.

I'd also recommend you understand the basic concepts covered in the manual and maybe mess around on a training server for a little bit at first, until you feel confident to join the action.McLuv wrote:Sorry for the OT, McNub, just find a server, read the manual, join a squad with Voip, and that's the easiest way to get into it.

As long as you make an effort to do what is asked of you, and make sure you ask for clarification or help when you need it, SLs can be very considerate of having a new player along.
