PRSP .87 Strict Balancing

Post by bobman86 »

Hello,

I am having a bit of trouble with the new single player. Despite ANY settings changes I make with bot ratio, autobalance, or anything else, my maps load with every bot (and myslef) on one team. If I try to teamswitch, I get killed and sent back to the first team. Why won't the bots balance? This was something I was really looking forward to trying. I cannot find any material on it, please help!!

I seem to have a problem generating "home" team squads. My first play on Operation Archer resulted in one squad of 5 people for the US team and a never ending supply of Taliban. After mowing down insurgents attacking the VCP for ages we were finally overun. It left me with a bit of a problem as there was nowhere left to spawn. Great fun at the time though - modern day Rourke's Drift sprang to mind.

@ the OP, un-tick auto balance in the local server setup + set bot ration at 50.

That's not as bad as creating a game and having to wait 6000 seconds to spawn. There are some glitches but once you figure it out its great. Though I need some stragies for playing as the insurgents because they can pretty much do nothing cause their guns don't have scopes, so the U.S. always wins. The molotovs are amazing though.

6000 seconds to spawn is because you have the wrong kit selected, ie an officer kit while your not in a squad etc, exactly the same as MP.

Turn of Auto Balance and move the ratio to 50 or 70, as stated above.

Their must be an Auto Balance toggle you are leaving on.

I suppose I can't poke at this forever, but seeing as how things still aren't working, can I get an answer to my second post? Isn't it in (My) Documents/Battlefield 2/Profiles or something? Then again could Vista have anything to do with this issue? I have noticed that despite the settings I set in the Single Player menu (Server name, bots, etc.) the loading screen resorts to the server name, etc. of settings I set in vanilla bf2. Wtf?

I have the solution for this problem! If you are having problems getting the bots to balance (in my case, all on one team), delete the ServerSettings.con file in Documents (in win XP it's My Documents)\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default

This will be recreated when you launch the game. The problem is that PRSP is taking bf2 coop values already set there and trying to apply them to PRSP. Won't work, so let PRSP re create the file w/ what settings you set!
