[AAR] How to learn a lesson the hard way

There were only about 4 players on each side. I was on the MEC side, so I set up an INF VOIP squad, and two other guys join.

I tell the one to take a medic kit, the other to take a light AT.

We head out with two supply trucks, set up a firebase in between South City and West City, then move up and set up another firebase in between West City and North City. As we are finishing up the second firebase, we hear the cobra overhead. We head out as soon as we are finished to take West City.

We take it, and as we are moving south we hear the enemy APC. We decide to take South and then move up to try to take out the APC. We have to time our moves in order to stay clear of the cobra. We were fortunate enough to not have anything spot us as we finally take South.

As we move north, we hear the enemy APC again, to our northwest. We move in between buildings, staying out of the sight of the cobra, trying to get closer and closer to the APC. We hear it getting closer and closer, I finally catch sight of it, and tell my light AT to be ready to fire. We are in a perfect position, the roof a small building, shielded by a "second roof" on the same building, which I tell my squad specifically not to go on.

This roof we are on has a low wall surrounding it, which our light AT guy makes a comment of. I spot the APC again, to our west (perfect!) behind a group of buildings, heading south into an intersection we have full sight of. The APC turns at the intersection to us, but it hasn't seen us yet. We have a perfect shot. I tell my guy to fire in 3 seconds.

BOOM!

It turns out that he crouched right at the low wall, and since AT shots do not fire at the sights, they fire at the end of the barrel, he fired his rocket right into the wall, blowing us all up, when he had a perfect shot!

All that work to get the best position, for nothing!

Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

Smart idea to use infantry to take objectives. They are able to easily avoid detection from the U.S. armored assets although at the same time, if an APC is holding an objective point - you have very limited options when it comes to over powering the enemy armor. Especially seeing how you only had four players on your team that your unable to request the HAT.

It's a hard choice though deciding if you should take your own APC and be at a disadvantage with a possible enemy cobra around or take up infantry and be at a disadvantage against possible enemy armored forces. Perhaps an APC crew with a Anti-Airman would have been better.
