[AAR] My regular day as a sniper on MEC

Post by Jozinho »

Thought I would share this story with you. Myself, I jsut started laughing when this happend, but ofc, got a bit pissed.

I got sniper,(finaly!) walking alone towards the crane on Muttrah city... None in my squad just me. Been walking carefully, and for about 20minutes since I had to walk from main base. Dont wanna loose my sniper kit. When I get about 50-60 m away from the crane, I see a machinegun man lying in a bulding. He isnt moving, but I am observing him for 5 minutes before I keep walking. I manage to climb up the ladder to the crane, and I am now on top of it with a sniper kit. YES! Finding my binoculars, and starting to spot.. I see some infanterys, but I'll jsut let them go, as they are walking in and out of some buldings. I have now survied for about 35-40min. I am about to take my first shot, when I see a sniper in my scope! Hes aiming at me! FUck, fuck fuck FUCK! I'm just lying dead on the ground, hoping he doesent see me.. He un-scops, but suddenly he uses his scope again. On me, this time too. I am thinking: Ok, Fire in 3-2- BOOM. He headshoted me. F**k. Ragequit.

Cheers, Jozi

35-40 minutes without shooting anyone? i do not approve :|
i always shoot enemies that are alone. ok, i do get spotted, but i rather have fun and shoot than just hide the whole round.

Well not shooting and waiting can have it´s benefits.

My squad member and I made a litte sniping squad on Karbala, at the beginning of the round we managed to hitch a heli ride to a tower down south, after sitting around for 30 minutes observing technicals and infantry move around I finally spotted a cache in a building 200m away, with my sniper providing cover I moved up and tossed a flare trough the window...cache down!

I moved back to his position and got caught in a firefight, I respawned at our RP up on the tower and sat out until the area was clear once again, 5 minutes later another cache pops up less than 100m away behind a building, this time I moved within 30m and tossed my flare...boom! round over USMC win.

Should of found a better spot than the crane, thats one of the first places people look for a sniper.

You've been wasting sniper kit for 40 mins? And you do this on regular basis? F*cking hell.

Erm, Not the spot I would have chosen. First of all is so obvious (vBf2-ish too), Second, you stand out against the sky and the crane itself, even at long range. Third, you kinda have no cover. Fourth, its impossible to fall back or run away when taking heavy fire (Good luck making it down that ladder in one piece).

Plus rage quitting is rather lame... :fryingpan

and Obvious is so obvious that the obvious is very obvious, so obvious that the obvious is overlooked.

i've gone a whole round once with the sniper kit and never fired a single bullet, but me and my co-sniper were loved by our eam because we helped direct the armor squad by giving enemy armor locations path of travel. which caused the enemy to die really fast.

I generally dont have much fun sniping, I do from time to time, but I find the sniper guns are not that accurate in PR as they are in BF2, im probally not doing something right though..

I gotta say i haven't played in a while (installing again now) But i loved when i got a sniper kit to treat it as real as possible.

Sure if you didn't get a kill it could be frustrating, but when you do get that kill....after all the time spent searching, sneaking..stalking. It is one of the best moments in the game.
