why did they remove those maps? they look so cool, like Operation Phoenix and the many other ones, and night maps!...

P.S. Al Bashrah... had an A-10??? was that even playable by the insurgents??
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

Bashrah had A10 and Cobra in 0.5, but back then it was still all about capping flags.

And Jungle Fever was THE map that sold me to PR :p

I actually ran into a 0.5 server a few days ago and played there a little, but it isn't there anymore.

Seeing the old 0.5 maps brought a tear to my eye. :)

And 0.5 Basrah was in theory unplayable since USMC had so much air and ground power, but it was balanced by the fact that everyone soloed tanks and teamkilled each other over the A10 :p

You can really see the difference in mapping styles and innovations.
The pre- 0.809 maps use vBF2 undergrowth and buildings and have the feeling of Karkand, while the newer ones have different feelings and look entirely different from vBF2.
