ALL WIP and again the colors are just for stand in placements. Working on the interior rooms and hallways. The engine room and bridge will the the hardest part as they are more detailed.

if the boat is split in sections, does that mean that there could be an alternative front of the ship including a helipad for example? would couse the ships to look less uniform

Thats the idea. Not only is it made this way for lighting but in the future different pieces can be made. When this is released there will be three middle sections (maybe more) that are different.

I saw a dev working on fastropes before is that how there going to get on the ship as i could not possibliy see landing helicopters on the boat.

Getting men onto a ship quickly is actually one of the few instances I've heard of ingame that actually calls for fastropes........

once you give them fast ropes They will want assault pods next you mark my words children are never happy with the toy's they have been given.

in real life yes since the ship is rocking about all over the place in the swell of the sea but ingame, no :p
