[AAR] Behind Enemy Lines

Post by GaMMwl »

I had my very best and most intense PR experience yesterday.

It was on the map where Russia and Canada fight it out in a woodland area wit an Island surrounded by marshland in the middle.

My Canadian squad moved south after taking Juliet(central Island) and as it is in this map, we quickly ran into enemy armor.
In a firefight against two APC's and one supporting squad my squad was decimated to two soldiers hiding from the enemy. That was me and Snikke01.
The enemy APC who survived the skirmish kept circling around the two of us and at times it was only 10 meters away from our positions!

We had to fight enemy infantry, so whenever the APC moved out of sight I fired my LMG constantly fearing that the APC would spot me!
In the end though, the APC got visual on my teammate and killed him. I grapped the opportunity and ran into the marsh surrounding Juliet. Here I crawled all the way(several hundred meters) to the Island.

To my luck there was a Canadian crate on the Island- remains from when our frontline was ahead of me. Now the frontline was approx. 1-1.5 km behind me.
I got a sniper kit and started spotting out the enemy. At first only APC's and trucks drove by. I could hear on my teammates when they engaged the vehicles I just spotted.
After some time I started feeling the paranoia creep up on me and suddenly I thought I heard something in the grass close to me.
I quickly pulled my pistol but nothing. Moments later an enemy appeared only few meters from me and luckily he was more shocked to meet an enemy so close than I was. I killed him without taking any damage(which would have killed me since no medic was around obviously).

Bla bla no one wants to read more than this- so to make it short, I killed 13 enemies with my sniper before my team fought its way to me. The feeling of intensity and paranoia and awareness of my crazy situation(whole squad dead and alone in fucking nowhere except for enemy armor passing by :/) was perhaps the most intense experience I have ever had in any game! Thx PR

I will never forget that day(hehe) :D

Had a experience like that on Yamalia,i got a pilot to fly me to a position,he made a mistake and landed obvielsy behind the enemy,so the enemies was pushing my team at the arty position objective(cant remember the name). And poor me,was behind em. I ran into the field, where it was crawling of enemies(probably 6+). And if i started to shoot, they would have discovered me. So i took my knife(had LAT kit so no bayonet) and i ran into the field stabbed first 2 enemies, then their rally, then 2 more. But then,my teammate was laying in one bunker surrouned by enemies and 3 enemies was standing 1 meter from him trying to kill him.(think they made it) so i ran and knifed 1 more until they shot me. So now,im so angry i didnt pull out my LAT and shot all 3 of em up in the air! Or took C7 fully auto. But,but, its just a game.

Lol Rambo :D My experience was from Yamalia too, I remember now.
Perhaps the immersive feeling in the map is because there is something familiar about it. This type of woodland could be found in Scandinavia so we know how it is to be in this environment?
