AK-47 Reloading
Alright, so if anyone has actually shot an AK, you'd know that in order to put a round into the chamber, you have to first put the weapon on fire before racking it. I've noticed while playing insurgency that the animations have it backwards, where the player inserts magazine, racks the gun and puts a round into the chamber, then puts the weapon on fire. Is this hardcoded, or did the military advisors just over look this? I understand that it's not a huge glitch and to the untrained eye, no one would notice.
If you fast forward to 1:24, it'll jump right to the loading procedure, namely how to chamber a round.

i haven't noticed that. i've mostly noticed that he pulls back the bolt and checks for a round each time you deploy it.

Sorry for the hijack of the thread, but while we're on the subject of reloading the rifles, why are the Insurgent and MEC reload animations for the G3 different? Aren't they the exact same rifle?

Same rifle, different user. One is a trained (or semi-trained) soldier and the other is an insurgent. Funnily enough, the insurgent reloads faster (6.5 versus 7.1 seconds).dtacs wrote:Sorry for the hijack of the thread, but while we're on the subject of reloading the rifles, why are the Insurgent and MEC reload animations for the G3 different? I think you're confusing different animations.nimations have it backwards, where the player inserts magazine, racks the gun and puts a round into the chamber, then puts the weapon on fire.

Aye, but is there a difference in what they do, IE it damages the bolt with the Insurgent reload or something.'[R-CON wrote:nedlands1;1309684']Same rifle, different user. And on that subject, [Chuc] why are the Insurgents not using the Norwegian AG3 style reload (the MEC one).

Re: AK-47 Reloading
The video references I got from [R-MOD]KP demonstrating the procedure also include that second method which is non-standard drill, so I thought that it would be a nice touch.

Ah cool, thanks. Are there any differences between the two?

Okay, is this in reference to the G3 or the AK-47? I'm confused because dumbasses like to go off topic and cause me to want to scissor kick them in the throat.'[R-DEV wrote:Chuc;1309769']The video references I got from [R-MOD]KP demonstrating the procedure also include that second method which is non-standard drill, so I thought that it would be a nice touch.
If they are in reference to the AK, I'd like to see this, as I have used an AK-47 and there is no feasible way to chamber a round with the weapon on safe because the firing selector is in line with the bolt and charging handle.
Please stay on topic.

Totally not accepted, as this thread has gone off topic and I cannot sort out which replies are to my OP and your "in-thread OP". If you have concerns about a different weapon, have the respect to start your own thread in regards to a different topic.dtacs wrote:Sorry for the hijack of the thread, but while we're on the subject of reloading the rifles, why are the Insurgent and MEC reload animations for the G3 different? The deploy animation has the user drawing back the bolt partially for a chamber inspection, then turning the safety off, while the reload animation is entirely done with the safety off.If they are in reference to the AK, I'd like to see this, as I have used an AK-47 and there is no feasible way to chamber a round with the weapon on safe because the firing selector is in line with the bolt and charging handle.

Thank you for the clarity. I'll double check this, but as far as I can recall the player inserts the mag, racks it, then puts the weapon off safe.'[R-DEV wrote:Chuc;1309823']The deploy animation has the user drawing back the bolt partially for a chamber inspection, then turning the safety off, while the reload animation is entirely done with the safety off.

At 0:53, weapon is drawn, chamber inspected, safety disengaged.

I believe back in before the G3 was reskinned so there can be a grenadier variant instead of the AK-101 with GP-30 that stood out in an army of G3's or so the reload animation matched the new origanal non-bipod SG-1 that replaced the also awkward SVD. That was when the MEC had the new reload mag time and fumbling. I bet the insurgent has the non-reskined one cause It does not have scope but it does have classic hole back sight before the gun iron sight was changed to open. So your answer probably is an old G3 from patch 6. something.[R-DEV]Chuc wrote:Not sure, the exact details are lost in the PMs of yesteryear..
Case solved so no more G3 talk.

5:23 into this video the guy demonstrates another way to reload that I had not seen before. He says it is the spetsnaz way but I am not sure since it is the weaponology show.

Seen that before. I've tried it multiple times, but it's hard as hell to master. I'll get it down before the end of the week when I get my tax return. And tax return=my purchasing a Hungarian AMD-65.Blakeman wrote:5:23 into this video the guy demonstrates another way to reload that I had not seen before.
