ha did you watch the programme on the Ravens?
yeah i don't think (well i hope not) we'll see NVA aircraft, unless theres like an aerial combat map like there is a vehicle warfare currently on PR.
maybe a birddog would be pretty sick to have haha, shooting white phos rockets

What are you expecting? This is all just user speculation and wishful thinking until the DEVs confirm anything.

yeah lol now a days air to air is entirely missiles but since the guiding tech was new back then it was ****. it was stupid of them to have had no guns on them to begin with especially since those early jets weren't really too much faster than propeller aircraft guns based engagements were still practical both as an offensive and defensive measure
Information in the hands of a critical thinker is invaluable, information alone is simply dangerous.

Ummm, no, just no. The Phantom's maximum speed was nearly 1500 miles per hour, compared to the Mustang's (Considered the best fighter of WWII) 437 miles per hour. The original concept for the Phantom was to engage well before you ever saw the aircraft with missiles, however constraints in the ROE required a visual confirmation, which lead to dogfighting. I'll agree that taking the gun off fighter aircraft was one of the most monumentally stupid things ever done by the USN and the USAF, but don't ever mistake the Phantom as being only a little bit better than a prop plane from the 1940s.
I hope that the F-105 & F-111 are reserved for bombing/air combat maps over North Vietnam, and CAS is left to others. Also, please no NVPAF fighters in the Southern skies even for the sake of balance, at least not prior to US withdrawal in 1973. After that, they could be a believable "what if" addition to a map.
The MiG-15 in the resources is actually just a mislabelled folder, since in actual EOD mod (according to the webpage) it's the historically correct MiG-17. MIG-15UTI two-seater trainer was the only '15 NVPAF used, and not in combat.
Of planes not included on that list, I'd like to see at least F-100 and A-37 make an appearance. Also, A-26 Invader and B-57 Canberra would be interesting to see.
F-104 is not really relevant IMHO, it was only used briefly in Vietnam, before the USAF decided that a dedicated point-defence interceptor was not particularly suitable as a long-range escort fighter, as a bomber, or in CAS or COIN roles. (Though that did not stop them selling the "improved" G subtype to European NATO countries for fighter-bomber duties...)
But what remains a mystery is that why does the trailer show a low-viz paint scheme on the A-7 in use from mid-1980's onwards? That asset list shows Vietnam-era AF and Navy versions of A-7... Were they not high enough quality, and the "modern" version was the best available?
