Post by ICEMAN1779 »

Is it me or dus nobody hardly play this mod anymore? was going to play just sec ago and theres only 2 servers 64 players. all the outhers had under 15 players in them. So i tryed and tryed to get in the two full servers no luck for like 30 mins. I like playing with lots of players :? . I rember when i never had any problem joining into a 50 or 60 players in a server and allways had like 10 big servers to pick from with no less than 50 players playing in them all.Is this becouse of the maps? The last patch? No team playanymore or something??? :? :? :? No good squadleaders anymore? Seams more players play Insurgency allso

It's the timezones. And i varies from day to day, especially weekends. Lots of people still play this, the number is going up. The teamplay is up to the players, and there I agree with you, that's a thing many doesn't seem to get their heads around, and that's a bad server.

He pretty much covered it. It's the middle of the night in the US, and early morning in the EU. That and it is a weeknight.

During 'prime time' playing periods, I will notice about 4 or 5 servers with 62-64 players on, with a few lingering around 36-48. For me, this seems to be at around Fri-Sat 20:00GMT-04:00GMT.

No, the player count reached it's highest in years after .9 was released.

Hmm seems true that.

What I've noticed is that many of the good TW players (SL's, Mumble users) seem to only show up on a few servers (we all know where) and or events. We have had problems with a Euro Mumble TW server since last summer.

I would say population hasn't changed much, but TW seems to have lessened markedly, I suspect that many of these players are spending more time on ARMA as it is more conducive to serious or TW gameplay.

I don't remember seeing so many players without VOIP let alone Mumble before, but as every year it will pick up over summer.

It'll always be very hard getting good TW servers running, people understandably don't want to seed or admin and the PR community is very broken up with many many different clans trying to run their own servers, hence the PMC board idea which fell victim to lots of verbal encouragement but very little support in terms off seeding, financing and admining.

If we the community want to do something I think we ALL have to work at it, and not just show up when it's over 50 players and never at any other time. Or have a time for seeding or say just Friday and Saturday nights?

I feel something is coming up its getting closer and its getting closer we should probably start preparing because exams are right around the corner.

YOu cant deny that exams are closing up for a big chunk of the active players. Just wait for the summer it will flow of people.

I've been spoiled by RT and PMC so I barely ever play unless there's a full mumble server anymore.

Aye, it just isnt the same playing without mumble.

No server seems to be able to live up to RT/PMC.

Up until 0.9 I used to play every night religiously but since this last release I will only play a couple of nights a week. Mainly because all the good maps that I use to love have gone (Mestia, Bi Ming, Op Ghost Train to name a few) and 90% of the new maps are unplayable due to performance issues plus there seams to be too many maps with melitia or rebel forces now on who have useless weapons and not enough equal maps with US vs CHN or UK vs MEC etc.

Maybe after 3 years of playing PR I am starting to get bored of it and find myself playing Arma2 more these days, which is a shame because there is too much PvE and not enough PvP (until PR:A2 is ready) in Arma2.
