[AAR] VOIP Fail?

Post by goguapsy »

Ever had those moments which some squad member says something nonsense/starts laughing for no reason/says something to someone not in game while pressing the VOIP button?

Well, a funny moment I had was we were walking a long way (no trans nearby). Imagine the silence (no shots were being fired anywhere near us). After walking for about 1 or 2minutes, the silence is broken. Someone coughs.

"Dude, did you just press the VOIP button so you could... cough?"

That was funny, because someone really just pressed the VOIP button so he could cough and he stopped.

These triggerhappy VOIP coughers... :P

Ever had a weird moment like this?
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

I sometimes press the VOIP button, forget what I was going to say, and make some kind of bodily noise over VOIP instead. Absentmindedness. It has a way with some people.

lol, it's habit for me, i press voip to cough, burp, fart and chuckle. IDK why though, just natural to press it, especially during boring moments.

I had to shout at my dog because she was barking, so I turned towards her, pressed B and shut her up. Whole squad was laughing...

That's a bad habit if you ask me. A very annoying one. Personally, I don't want to hear people coughing or burping, that's just such a childish thing to do.
It's like burping in your neighbor's face in class. It may be funny some times, but it's not adequate. It's an attention-thing rather.

I'd say its more like common courtesy or etiquette. I really hate it when people burp, fart, whatever over any voip program. Do it and I will kill you.

Yeah I believe some people press the VOIP button as an automated habit. I try not too, but sometimes I press when I laugh --- so hard that I lose my voice, actually.

I am talking nonsense sometimes when I am leading an english speaking squad and I am talking in french on teasmspeak. ^^ Get mixed up and everything and trying to talk in english on voip while someone is talking french to you on TS can give some crazy moment like "what?" :)

It is frenglish lol
The best victory is when the opponent surrenders of its own accord before there are any actual hostilities... It is best to win without fighting.

I play with PR with my flatmate in the next room. So when playing together we keep the doors open so we can shout through to each other. Usually just unimportant stuff or things we don't want the rest of the squad to hear.

MY flatmate often unintentionally presses the voip button and shouts through to me at the same time - so the rest of the squad will hear out of nowhere "YEAH, THIS SL IS A NOOOOB" or whatevr. Very confusing for them :D

My fav.

It happens with my friends over Vent or TS adn most likely results in me weaselling my way out of it/ the SL leaving/us getting kicked.

Mixing up mumble, VOIP, commander chat... always confusing the heck out of me.

While one of the best teamplayers I've met in PR didn't have a mic, I must say that having a mic is definitely worth it. Seriously, it's a whole different experience.

That and you will be more combat effective. I don't like having non-VOIPers in my squad, because they will rarely report contacts or such very fast. They also tend to get shot while typing all to often!

You know what's even worse, trying to press the mic button when your not playing the game... and talking to your girlfriend... that was weird... Another time I attempted to give a compass bearing... amazingly I don't play PR all that often!

I think some people forget that they are pressing the VOIP button.

Yea idk why people do that. I guess it's almost like because they feel as if they are there or something... I have no idea lol.
