[Video] Why the mumble user team always win

Post by =Romagnolo= »

At first we tried to go destroying the ammo cache, but we all got kill, expled, burned etc...

Later, we met another mumble sqad, our squadleaders talked (a lot) about ideas and tatics to destroy that damn last cache.

So, we won :D

I think this could be a good exemple how to use mumble and to explain what it is. I hope you like :D
[R-DEV]OkitaMakoto:"Cheers, you're the man, Okita"
[R-DEV]Rhino:"I in fact got kicked from a server for tking."
Hitperson:"well done, treasure it forever."
[R-DEV]Adriaan:"Damned classy Roma, if I may say so."
[R-DEV]Chuc:"Pro man, pro."
(yes, it was about me)
[R-MOD]BloodBane611:"Romagnolo, you definitely deserve a LOL award for that."

Real good video , hole scene at 3-6 mins of the squad planning is perfect example of why all users should use mumble.

"Mumble team always wins!"

except when...

"we get killed, exploded, burned, etc"

Case closed, Mumble is definitely superior when you dont get killed repeatedly by the enemy team.

We used mumble to tell the other players what we went trought, and they informed us where they suspected the cache was. Then we build up plan (go in and destroy it). Teamwork at its max level ! :o

This is great, however its unfortunate that I only see TG with a steady Mumble player base. I miss the days of Reality Teamwork and Project Mumble. :(

Hey stealth, I see plenty of people on mumble in the aussie and kiwi servers, though TG has a good mumble playerbase.

Mumble really helps, I've had so many 'squad leader meetings' like that :P Running over to talk to the SL of another squad is much better when theres alot of people in teh SL channel, if you can put the effort in to run for 15seconds to talk to someone you keep the coms clear, making everyone's life alot easier. Sometimes I want to remove the Squad leader Radio option for this reason :P

half the time though all our squads surrounding the squad leaders who are discussing stuff that they forget to actually watch for the enemy ;P "wtf you lot looking at, you think I'm pretty or something? WATCH YOUR VECTORS!" :P they just get astounded by how easily and realistically 2 or more squads can work together with mumble, Great vid :P

p.s. mumble teams don't always win, sometimes they communicate too much and this can slow them down, or they make plans that are too complicated.

Yes but do you remember this? You were squad leading. This was a great example of how mumble can help the entire team work together to take down caches. Unfortunately, this is also a good example of how people can't shut up lol.

That whole tent-briefing was great with Mumble, and something I have never seen since.

WOW !
About 10 people there that need to be kicked so they learn the basic discipline a 4 yo has.
But Mumble is worth it.

Perhaps if we appoint a senior NCO to take charge during the SL meetings ?
He or she can keep the troops busy.

lol yes, MUMBLE FTW!!

I only got on it about 3 days ago and i am loving it.
One round on karlaba i had a tank sqd going and typed in team chat that SL go on mumble, they both INF sqd's SL came on which gave us a hugh advantage. I was able to get reports from the others of possible Bomb cars and GARYs movements, while we moved in on any requests for support while they did something.
This kept us alive and gave them another soldier in the assualt instead of watching over the sqd and there escape route.
By the end we had 2 GARYs, 2 bomb cars, 3 techies and a civi car, along with a fair amount of INF.

A way that BigD has fixed the mass mumblers static is to have a seperate channel per team which is the SL only channel while everyone else in the server (friends for foe) are in the another channel, plus SL channel hasn't got a range limit unlike the normal 70m range for everyone else so heaps more help full when doing mutiply sqd assualts from different directions, although you are seperated from everyone else who is not in your sqd or a SL.

There . Is . Only . One . Reality

I never seem to find anyone in Mumble. I can think of maybe one time where asking "You have mumble?" on the local channel was met with a response. (playing on UK servers mostly)

Nice, I always enjoy seeing organized gameplay like that.

You didn't have to though. Currently, Karbala is probably the easiest map for the BLUFOR. You guys have 4 hour round times so teamwork isn't even needed to win, its unfortunately a pointless addition when the US have overwhelming firepower and the ability to move around with ease.

We have 2 hour round times and the average game time is only 30 minutes, with roughly 20 tickets lost.

That's a gross underestimation dtacs, I would double those numbers at the very least if not more. We do run the full two hours sometimes, but if you're referring only to insurgency, then it is all dependent on the insurgent team. If they're intent on being stupid and give away all the caches, yes we finish the games heaps fast, but if they don't spawn on unknowns, don't get shotgunned and set up good fake caches, I've seen many insurgency games pip the 1.5 hour mark.

I agree with the rest of your post though.

I was the second SL. I will use mumble if I am leading, otherwise it gives only a slight advantage. This thread should be renamed "why the team with the most coordinating SLs wins."

There's only a couple of servers where it is supported by admins, which is necessary. Tactical Gamer(Promoted, 2 channel) and Alpha Project(Required,2 channel), Pelitutka has a minor following but 1 channel is just counter-productive, and there may be a populated mumble server here and there outside that, but mostly you have to go for TG and AP.
