And then once that was done did I start painting on the map by hand the concrete etc.
How do you make that map to the terrain?

Can someone link me to a tutorial of lowdetailmaps and lowdetail types? Because I can't seem to find one.

I have been using TPaint and I got a base texture but some of the textures seem to be getting a "tiled" look at a distance and I don't get why.
Here is the terrain at a distance:

I copied all of the folders that the tutorial said that I should. Anyone know why this is happening?

just have a look at all the existing tutorials, you need to generate Lowdetailmaps
