Anyone notice the grotesque mis-use or over-use of the vehicles?
I've been playing yesterday in a public server and every squad was either designated to have an armoured vehicle or an aircraft and hardly at times, I really do think some people in co-op are just cowardly to fight a bot in small arms.
Surely, the co-op infantry only settings are fine. However it doesn't really appeal to have much of a difference. It's mostly light armour and sparse infantry squads maneuvering when needed.
Like I wouldn't mind the large map of Ramiel to be just infantry on one end and bots with vehicles on the other. That's a whole lot of map and lot of strategy considering the U.S. forces would be more in turned to play as a team rather than a bunch of misfit smurfs. This doesn't just go for Ramiel, I think a few maps that with vehicles removed on their side would be a definite challenge for a team of disadvantaged humans versus a team of NPC's with enough capability to play much more offensively.
I'm not suggesting an overhaul of the whole system, however revisions and additions to the infantry only maps to include all map sizes and utilizing unarmed transport as a means of supplies than having a multitude of weapon systems. Overall, it should allow more cooperation and more integration between squads. This would reintroduce more infantry roles in terms of ground combat (i.e. Recce and support elements + infantry squads). I've seen this stuff work out pretty well considering everyone is close to the action and allows the squads to function and rely on each other. This would allow a purpose as a commander to report in enemy activity via UAV (when it's fixed) than leaving it to a bot to just order troops to attack/defend targets.
I'm not disgruntled about armour roaming around. I'm just somewhat annoyed at certain strategies in play sometimes. Most of the time, leadership is mostly ordering to wait for a transport or get in to vehicle. Never really using the terrain to the advantage, excluding mortars and armour. Also I kind of find infantry versus infantry with vehicles handicap more of a challenge especially when one side already knows your position sometimes.
On another topic, I've noticed a few servers in co-op have the "stay off the bot team" rules, wouldn't it be just easier to implement an option for the server admin to allow bots to votekick human players on their side? I say this as an option considering some may want to disable it because they may want to allow players onto the other side for their own reasons.
Food for thought...

LOL that's a good one. What would be even easier (and actually doable) is preventing players from switching in the first place.Shooter90 wrote: wouldn't it be just easier to implement an option for the server admin to allow bots to votekick human players on their side?

Not necessarily so. Considering the fact some people will or will not vote kick another person. This person can or may continue being on the opposing team indefinitely if not most of the players to vote him/her out. Though an admin can vote kick immediately, some do actually just log in when the admins are not usually on and join co-op on the opposing force. I don't know their intentional purpose, likely some sort of inferiority complex in thinking bots are better than battle buddies. Whatever the case, I think there should be some method in just completely preventing players to joining the other team.[R-DEV]Outlawz wrote:LOL that's a good one.
