Yeah i've had that countless of times as well. WMM is just fubar, or as someone else explained it:

There are long black spots where there should be more footage because Bill Gates spilled coffee on his keyboard while making Windows Movie Maker.

I don't know if there's any fix for this, i searched around a bit for a solution but didn't find anything back then.

ok thank god I am not alone then, I am at least relieved a tiny bit, but dam have I looked into this throughly and everywhere I look i come into a thread like this and no one has an answer people just say OMG I have that problem too, or WMM sucks lol

I bought Sony Vegas 8 at that time. BUt there are newer version available already..

Much better than the crappy WMM. I nearly smashed something at my PC because WMM was crashing all the time then I got sony vegas and life was good
