Auto-Deploy

Hi,

I know PR has an auto-deploy feature that does the joining on its own while u sit back. Thats great, but there is 1 small issue. You can ONLY use auto-deploy if u find the server u want to join through the full server list. You can not auto-deploy from the favorites list. so to auto-deploy, u have to search through all the servers to find the one u want to go in. basically, the favorites menu is pointless.

So is it possible to add the auto-deploy button in the favorites as well. that would be so awesome.

The favorites menu isn't pointless, but I only find myself using it when I want to rejoin a server that has just crashed. If you want to join your favorite server, just do a shortened search in the search box. For example, TacticalGamer can be shortened to 'tac' or the CIA 24/7 Kokan server to 'cia', then simply organize by amount of players and then autojoin as per normal.

That can all be done from about 6 seconds of logging in. My only gripe with auto-join is that it doesn't work when alt-tabbed.

i always play on the HARDCORE server, and it is ALWAYS full. it is in my favorites. everytime i join, i use auto-deploy to join it. so all im saying is that even tho that is the only server i ever play on, i still have to go through, sort, search, watever u wanna call it. i have to do that and then i can auto deploy.

its just feedback. thats what the thread is about. auto-deploy is a great feature unique to PR. All i want is to be able to use it from favorites. thats all. there is no "new" code really. its just using the same code that already exists and make a new instance of it in the favorites menu. thats all

I would say to you that there are many better servers our there than H but thats another story.

You don't have to type it, just press 'update servers' in deployment and then the sort player button. Although if there is enough demand from players to put this feature in the favorites list it will most likely be done.

The 5 secs to reconnect thing makes it a bit pointless for me. If I want to get on my favourite (mumble-only) server (which at peak times is always full), I have to select it to see the occupancy, select another, then select back and keep checking.

Usually you only get about 1 sec window to click yourself in (before someone else does), so with that re-doing it every 5 secs I can't see how anyone gets in with it.

Unless it makes a queue?

I LOVE the auto-deploy. I just set it and walk away. Grab a drink, snack, some TV whatever for a few minutes til I connect.

How does anyone have to search for their favorite full server. The browser list sorts by population and there are never more than 3 or 4 servers at max occupancy. ..?

My only gripe with auto-join is that it doesn't work when alt-tabbed.

I alt-tab out to start Mumble if I am joining TG. It seems to work for me without any trouble.

Skyline is an =]H[= member, he just doesnt wear the tags here and like him I only play on our server.

yeah the auto deploy should get faster i can refresh faster by clicking on separate servers takes me a second and 5 seconds is kinda too long for joining a populated server.
