Post by anglomanii »

hello all, i would simply like to create a thread to discuss research sources and knowledge bases, where to find them what to look for and who to talk to. I would also like to offer my assistance if i may.

please add any resources about possible groups or organizations that may be useful to this MOD.

Matterhorn - A Novel of the Vietnam War - By Karl Marlantes - Review - NYTimes.com

took this guy 30 years to write this. I read it and it was pretty damn good. everything seemed pretty legit. defiantly something you guys would be interested in i would think. It has like a Vietnam slang dictionary in the back. and a map of the area they were fighting over in the front. i think you guys would benefit from reading it.

I have read a pretty long and thick book that explains the vietnam war from everyangle.I am pretty sure that it might help. Its called "The Illustrated History of the Vietnam War" by Chris McNab and Andy Wiest.may sound like a childrensbook but its pretty much targeted at adults, not only because of the "critical" theme. Its also pretty thick but explains things very thouroughly.
I am realy realy looking forward to this mod. great work so far

pretty good initative, and good to hear from you again Anglomanii, it's been a while

I don't know if any (more) photographs are needed but I personally found this picasa album enlightening:
MAU THAN 1968

quite a lot of photo's, in black/white and (grainy) colour, often with descriptions and dates provided (especially at the lower end of the album). Quite a focus on 1968 and, perhaps most interesting, it contains a lot of pictures depicting ARVN troops.
