LAV as submarine

I saw a Gary coming up behind us and i started driving into the small lake. Finally we survived.

Water is essentially just another surface like roads or dirt, it isn't even free flowing. You only interact with the surface as there isn't any water underneath it. So I assume the LAV found a spot where the ground was below the water surface, if even slightly, so that it could ignore the surface effects and go straight under. Yet another hardcoded fail whale in the BF2 engine.
Awesome spot though, would be epic for a Gary to hide in.

Is the canadian LAV able to not automatically flip after an x amount of time?
