[AAR] The human bait

Post by whathe12 »

I have a faint memory of this as it happened a few months ago, but I was being SL on Jabal and doing a pretty good job of it I might say. No one was complaining and everyone followed my orders.

We were hiking our way up from East beach over to Dam. We were just passing the actual Dam and rounding a corner heading into the east side of the Jabal city when we see 2 full friendly infantry squads sprinting towards us like they had just seen big foot. I get suspicious but still start walking towards to corner of the hill, not knowing what lies there. I tell my squad to save their sprint and tell my LAT member to get his rocket out. I ask one of the passing friendly soliders why they're retreating. He tells us an enemy APC is coming up that hill backed by an entire infantry squad.

I tell my squad to get inside the bunker right across the road and stay there until I say to come out. I tell my LAT guy to stand his ground until that APC is taken out. I tell him good luck as I too, become a coward. I start hearing the APC's tracks grinding up the dirt on that hill as it makes it's way around the corner. I see my LAT man fire his rocket and then quickly retreat to where we are. I yell at him to stand his ground but he keeps running towards us. He makes it to our bunker followed by a full on stampede of enemy infantry with their knives/bayonets out.

I didn't wanna be unfair with these guys so I tell my men to get their knives out as well and to charge. I stayed behind as i watch my men get slaughtered by MEC knives. I pull my grenade as they swarm to me like zombies wanting human flesh. I pull the trigger, huddling in the corner crying, I see one one MEC round the corner with his teeth grinding. His knife cuts off one blade of my 5 o'clock shadow when I feel the burning pain of the grenade going off.

It was a fun round and that was the only death my squad suffered, i soon left after that.
