Re: PR BF2 Died a bit :(
I too feel clans are bs, great in theory, but too many ego's and internal politics. NOT why I play.Although I have only been in one so maybe that is not an objective view. Now I play with a great bunch of guys we have no server no bs no politics just gaming and quality gaming at that WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT.

Anyone willing to randomly join a group, pm this dude, it's an open relantionship. You don't have comit yourself to anything to join this fantastic group of lads.ubernuka wrote:I too feel clans are bs, great in theory, but too many ego's and internal politics. Unfortunately for myself I haven't been available at the right time to join them. Perhaps in a near future...

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a lot of the clans out there are good ones, but unfortunately, I've seen a lot of bad ones. Believeing their server is being hacked because Alpha Networks are having connection problems is just stupid, and really makes me laugh.
As Ubernuka said, "hanging out" with a bunch of dudes on Teamspeak, without any policy is, in my opinion, a much greater option than joining a clan.

Since the arma2 release is a NEW feature to Project reality people flock to check it out. same thing happens when a new update is created popularity boosts for a few days then goes down once every one is used to the change. arms 2 yes will be continuous people with revert back to PR bf2. I personally dont have Arma 2 and the proper updates sooo i haven't played it yet. not to mention the **** load of school work i need to accomplish has kept me from playing BF2 PR. but its all good

I run a clan like that, no drama, all friends, good laugh & bantersaXoni wrote:As Ubernuka said, "hanging out" with a bunch of dudes on Teamspeak, without any policy is, in my opinion, a much greater option than joining a clan.
its when you get lots of members that all want different things which is where it starts going wrong and people go different ways

Also a little more than that. Sometimes I don't feel like meeting the same old people every time I'm going to play PR because I will feel the "obligation" to talk about non-related game issues.Smiddey723 wrote:I run a clan like that, no drama, all friends, good laugh & banter

That was one of my problems while in a clan. Was generally unresponsive because I enjoyed interacting in-game, not in a waiting room.
Plus, I like the feeling of meeting random people and immediately click as a group, which is really one of the few things that make PR so unique.

Some people get a kick out of that, talking about your clanmate's dog is a good way to kill the time when trekking across a PR map once all your trans is dead....each to their own i suppose. I suppose I am the opposite to yourself in this regard, when I play, I rarely open my squads to pubbers these days, it just seems like too much effort to press 'b' when TS has voice activation on!Arcturus_Shielder wrote:Also a little more than that. And I do enjoy those dead moments, but it's all happening in-game and it gains a different dimension as I'm still playing it, it's part of the experience. However, if I solely talk through a side program I could very well be using that time with something more productive or having that same conversation with my real life friends.chimpyang wrote:Some people get a kick out of that, talking about your clanmate's dog is a good way to kill the time when trekking across a PR map once all your trans is dead

Re: PR BF2 Died a bit :(
Problam is the underlying engine BF 2 is old and unless people stumble upon the mod and decide its so awesome they have to buy BF 2 for it, the influx of new players will be limited and drained by ARMA over time. Not a bad thing imo as the game progresses it will get a new coat. I am growing weary of the dated engine.
In the long run ARMA 2 will be better for the mod than not have it, seen as the alternative would be having PR die a slow dead, as not enough new players pick up BF2.

@OP
The cool kids who take the time to seed servers are all playing PRA2. and when the novilty wears off and the bugs get on our nerves we'll back to BF2 for regular activity.
Mind you thats not intended as a jab against PRA2, its simply fact. i wouldnt be in the least surprised if they brought out a bug fixes patch soon.

Re: PR BF2 Died a bit :(
Just wanted to say: When me and my buddies started to play today (afternoonish) we had 7 full servers plus some others adding up to another ~ 60 people. So that is about 480 - 500 players right there. We played the whole day/night, almost 12 hours, on full/almost full servers all the time. Sooo...
PR:BF2 is not dead by a "long shot" - it gets revived by a medic, stays cool for 2 minutes and proceeds blowing minds!

When PR:A2 gets polished we will probably be looking forward to PR2. Just sayin, because that's the way things are now.

Re: PR BF2 Died a bit :(
I'm keeping PR:BF2 installed. Would be crazy to remove yet.
For sure, PR:A2 is certainly getting a right seeing to too!
For the time being, PR:BF2 teamplay is far superior (well, the couple of servers I did frequent). Maybe coz PR:A2 is new, ppl learning it, and so forth.
Currently hardly any squads naming for assets, no inter-squad co-ordination, etc.
Don't get me wrong, there are good squads at times. But PR:A2 is lacking atm, due to the quality of those that are in the server.
Saying this, I have had a few awesome rounds though.
I'm sure it'll improve, and if it gets on par with PR:BF2, then it will be hard for me to return. I'll still have them both installed though.
PR:BF2 on it's last legs.. hell no. Far too much fun.

Re: PR BF2 Died a bit :(
I wonder if PR2 attracted some new players to BF2PR? I haven't had the time to play either games this past two weeks. Glad to hear they are going strong.
