Shijia Valley tactics

This map is enormous, epic, and beautiful. Tremendous variety in terrain and beautiful trees make for very interesting tactical opportunities.

My only tactic is use the boats. PLA and UK have boat spawns at either end of the river. The river itself has a main channel and some side channels formed by the silt. You can ride down the side channels and move up the river while being obscured by the haze and silt dunes. The map shows squares on the east side of the river while are actually rice paddies navigable by boat. There are gaps in the berms between the paddies but you can actually jump them with the boat. Lots of fun!

The PLA can use this area for a flank attack on Shijia town or to interdict any UK reinforcements.

Great place for setting up a FOB or AA station too.


BTW, does anyone know what things are destructible on the map? the main Shijia bridge doesn't blow with C4.

The road bridges are all destructible. Just make sure you place the C4 in between the spans and not near the supports. I also think it takes 2 C4.

The train bridge, however, is not destructible because if it was the railroad tracks would float in mid air.


Oh, and yeah... the boats are definitely underused and a lot of fun in the rice paddies.

As chinese;

The most southern bridge with the steel frame on top....you can ambush enemies by laying on top of it and placing C4 on the bridges. You can also place yourself near it as a FAC to guide chinese attack heli's (dont know the name). And SW of the river there is a littlee valley with lots of willows, drop a few crates over there and make an AA emplacement. Or use the recon car use it to ambush British armor!

UK... Go to the Airfield and make a FOB. That will make you win.
