So I am going back and trying to finish any 3d projects I have left 'open' at the moment. My interest in this project took a nose-dive after I lost the .PSD when my os corrupted a while ago. However, now I have finished a lot of other stuff I had going I can put some focus on this. When I get photoshop/marmoset up I will get a texture going again which should be soon.

Anyhow, while I dont have Ps right now that does not stop me modeling ey?

Missing some bolts still and I took some artistic liberties a bit to get the most out of the bake.

There are ways of getting back stuff on HDDs, epically if all that's broken is the OS as all you need to do then is install a new OS on another HDD, plug in the old one as a secondary and then browse the old HDD with the OS on your new one and grab the files off.

If its more serious you can send your HDD off to a HDD recovery specialist who can recover stuff most of the time.

I would suggest SystemRescue, you burn it as a live CD (that is if you can), and then just boot from it and copy whatever files you need to save to a flashdrive. It might be better to have a little understanding of linux for it, though...

Thanks for the advice guys, however It was only one of my dual boots so some stuff I managed to get back but I must have forgot to back this up. . I am already further than I was before with the one I started today so its all good.

Shot of the wheels before I go to bed. First bake so its WIP and has some errors.

Day 1.5 of texturing. Obviously very much a wip. Bf2's specular is controlled in the alpha of the normal right? and there can be no colour in it?

looking good, and where the spec is depends on the material but most of the time its in the normal map's alpha, but can be in the colour's alpha too but put it in the normal's alpha as that's generally correct, but the exporter will set it up anyways just make sure you provide him with the .psds

Looks good tim. Shading will still need some work but nice work mate

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

Is the colouring matched to the other vehicles? I understand there is lots of shading and dirt to go on but even as base colours they look a little bright/vibrant at the moment.

Also the Brown tone looks abit too yellow at the moment.

Here is something I've used and was happy with the results.

Model looks great though mate.
