NVA Hueys?

Post by Operator009 »

I noticed in the PRV update that the USMC have AA kits. I wasn't aware the Ho Chi Men had air assets. It must be true, because they added a pilot kit to the NVA as well.

NVA had around 200 helicopters during the Vietnamese war, mainly Russian built. Mi 17, Mi 8 and even a few Mi 28s.

Mi-4 and Mi-8 helicopters were used by the NVA during the Vietnam War, though not near as extensively as the US.

PAVN / VPAF definitely had air assets and even a few aces. Mig-17s, 19s and 21s, Il-28 bombers, An-2s and a couple of helicopter types. Most of their aircraft didn't come South on the offense but were used in attacks across the borders in Cambodia and Laos.

Doubt they had any of the latter, seeing as how they were developed in the 1980s. Mi-4s and 8s, yes. Mi-17 was not developed until the 70s.

I'm curious if and how NVA/PAVN air-assets will be represented, I never heard much of those except for their close to ridiculous representation in bfv

They didn't have those during the 54-75 war, either.

1st mi-28 prototype was in Russia for testing during 2006

neither was mi 17, first flight of mi 17 was in 1970 (so maybe during late stages of war but highly unlikely)

they used Mi-6 and Mi-8

I hope there wont be too much choppers if any for the NVA. Only like one unrespawnable transport chopper or something.
