Possible weapons in PN

Post by AfterDune »

The first posts in this thread are from: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f558-p ... tions.html.

To keep that thread clean, I've moved the posts into this new thread.

And while we're at AT weapons, the Germans will be getting a "Panzerbuchse", the anti-tank rifle. Although it wasn't really used in Normandy times anymore (too weak by then), it's a nice change from the other weapons. Not as effective against tanks as a Panzerschreck and the likes, but it's not that bad (ingame that is, in real life they weren't effective against tanks at all in 1944). Don't have a video for it, but it gives you something to look forward to ;) .

If it is the PzB 39 you could change the model a bit into the Granatb?chse. After 1943 they modified the old at rifles to fire HEAt riflegrenades.

Also, the M18 Recoilless rifle was only used starting in April 1945.

Interesting. The first anti-tank rifle in PR (at least, for what I remember).

I suppose it will serve as a LAT while you guys build a Panzerschreck model to compete with the M18. I just wonder if it is a match against the Bazooka though.

I like this idea...a lot.

I rather have an already nice model to play with, than none at all in the HEAVY AT category. It's the early steps of this mod with limited resources, no need to appeal for things or feats that would seriously compromise its survival. They do not have the time factor by their side...

I would put the bazooka/Panzerschreck in heavy at and an smg with explosives/Panzerfaust in the light at kit.

It's the Panzerbuchse 783R, captured from the Russians (PTRD-1941).

Yes, so it seems. The model looks quite good though and the Bazooka in PN was "overused" in a way that both teams used it (though the Germans have a darker version of it and is named differently), I guess the M18 and Panzerbusche is a nice change.

Historics probably go...

Hmm too bad I don't think the HEAT nades were developed for the Russian at rifles. I think if you want to mix up the German kit selection you could probably port over more Russian weapons from BGF.
For instance, look at the lower part of this pic:

Image

Russian SVT40 in American landing boat, probably captured from the Germans. The beaches of Normandy were often manned by so called "Osttruppen" which were basically Russian POWs pressed into German service. Many of them used russian weaponry.

The STV-40.. I'm afraid I have no permission to use it :(

(link to spreadsheet)

Is there anything else in there that could be used?

Are the crossed out weapons already ingame?

edit: disregard that.

Generally speaking the DP28 and PPsh41 were captured in large numbers and even converted to 9mm/8mm Mauser in some cases. Since the troops guarding the beaches were often second line troops, the MP28 would also not be out of place.

No, we're not allowed to use them.

Edit: these are handheld weapons of BF Korea, perhaps there's anything useful in there?

Hmm... Some weapons from this list could be used in PR:V. PPSH-41, PPS-43, Mosin Nagant. But, of course, these weapons only for Vietcong.

Alek-say, Mosin Nagant can't be used I'm afraid.

The MP28 is in the files. The only "thing" with it is its reload-animation I believe. It doesn't match and the magazine floats when you reload it. I can't stand that :p , so it's not in use atm.

YES! This was used by the germans in the landing day, as seen on Pointe-Du-Hoc in FH2. It would be a wonderful alt-AR kit weapon!!

Just tried it in BF:K. It's a beautiful weapon and even has 3D sights, but the reload animation is terrible with this one too.

Shots:

But I noticed another animation folder. The reload animation is not perfect, but at least he sort of takes out the magazine from the top, not from below and pull it through the weapon :p .

Why can't? There were snipers in Vietcong.

Not talking about the rifle itself, but the one on the Google Docs list, we are not allowed to use it.
