Re: Javelin?
seriously i said this on moddb to many times. REAL WARFARE ISNT BALANCED. you say you want realistic warefare for game play. then dont balance some weapons! sure the javalin is an unfair anti tank weapon. it was developed that way. plus inf now need a way to deal with themals on tanks. i do say thermals make tanks much easier to use against inf and enemy tanks, but being on the recieving side of a tank or APC with thermal's yeah i will totaly agree that the jav be used. plus besides being able to engage from a huge distance make it like the current HAT kits. 2 hits to destroy a tank. also have atleast one kit per game not like HAT kits where you get 2 per game.

Re: Javelin?
Why would this be overpowered? Every HAT thats in PR, the case is this: If you see it you can most likely (especially for the guided ones like SRAW and ERYX) kill it so are not all HATs overpowred in this sence? iirc is'nt one of the biggest problems with the Javelin, is the fact that the sensor has problems detecting targets when the enviorment is hot? so make the time to lock on long... if I can be frank here, you guys didnt care much about "balance" issue when it came to the TOWs on the Bradley (and other TOW vehicles).

your wrong about the javs sensors they updated them so that wont happen. they had that problem in 2003 when the USMC and US army when they were heading to baghdad.

Re: Javelin?
The power of a fire and forget one hit disable HAT kit is quite substantial.
Substantial enough that if the NZDF were up against a faction that had tanks, and they had no armour it could be balanced. Why not give the kiwis a javelin, and balance with it against other assets

As ma21212 said a year ago, pretty much all guided HAT weapons in PR are "overpowered" the same way the Javelin would be. The hit probability for them on decent servers is pretty damn close to at least 90% and all you need to do with those is just crouch down just before cresting for the deviation to settle, then BAM one less tank bothering you. Even on moving targets.
In fact, right now, the Javelin would actually be weaker than the SRAW/Erix/PLA thing, as you'd have to wait for the lock, exposing yourself a whole lot more than with other weapons.
It might be overpowered if the ranges were realistic and then the real life weaknesses of SACLOS would become apparent, but as it is now, it would hardly be a massive advantage.
