...or just you?
xD
But yes, even after playing all the new games, anything, even if it's on the xbox-I will always at the end of the day come back to PR. Always.

To tell you the truth, I feel that the PR games are getting better. I have so much more fun playing with my clan than I did lone-wolfing on servers. But the community and unique gameplay will always bring people back.

Re: PR Bf2 Dying?? :(
The PRTA SISU 128 server with Mumble has given me some of the best PR gameplay since I started playing a few years ago. I think it's only going to get better as people (like me) get tired of BF3 and want to come back to good ol fashioned PR.

Mmh they sure would, but I never actually seen any of those :s. People rather let 2 ticks pass than to risk a chopper/escortsaXoni wrote:Definitely!

Re: PR Bf2 Dying?? :(
i havent been playing much since .9 release but that's just cause of my schedule. the times i can play just don't match up with any of the servers where i have a low enough ping.

Well, back in .5(started in .3) I believe there was a mode called "Secure The VIP" Where one team had to "rescue" another team member(This team member was just a kit that someone had to pick up and run back to the safe zone)saXoni wrote:Definitely!

Many new games were released around the same period. Some of these games are time-consuming which draw players out for a while.
Let me ask you something. Where else are you going to play PR?

I can't really see much decrease.
When PR 0.95 was out... It was the highest ranked most player's played in PR history! I think over 10,000+ a day.

10.000 INDIVIDUALS per week. But yeh servers were quite full and playercount was ranging constantly around 1000 at European peak-time.the_epic_pooh wrote:I can't really see much decrease.

However thats not the point, more players doesn't mean any better (cough COD cough). The core gameplay of PR is fading away and no fancy asset or model will change that. I don't know what the cause is but since 0.9 the gameplay has steadily gone downhill (on every server).

Re: PR Bf2 Dying?? :(
I think our standards for gameplay are subconsciously getting unrealistically high, to the point where we get massively frustrated when something doesn't go our way. It happens to me a lot on PRTA and TG (though not as much on other servers, presumably because, there, I don't really expect much from others and don't feel anyone is expecting much from me either).
Sometimes, I question why I even play if I get more frustration than enjoyment. I'm actually surprised at myself because of how hostile I've managed to get due to failures recently

Re: PR Bf2 Dying?? :(
jerk has a point, when its not happening we do get frustrated
new games temporarily taking players away, and also alot of really great teamplayers moving to ArmA2 do put alot of pressure on PR. But still, good games to be found. I've been encouraging the community to band together and meld different servers together to have fewer, more populous servers for years now because of it. So many clans want their own server, they'd save themselves time and money by joining a clan alliance or gaming community instead like PRTA or TG respectively.

If I got a dollar every time I heard PR (and BF2) is dying...
...I'd buy myself BF3 already.

Re: PR Bf2 Dying?? :(
I totaly agree with that. When I am flying transport chopper in aas map sometime I receive complains by peapol who are thinking they are in real life... im actualy very good at flying these thing but some player think we cant do any error... And by saying error I dont mean crashing the chopper! By that I mean mistake like fail droping crate because its on the top of a building, getting shoot down by aa etc. Yesterday I have done a very good round with the transport chopper on russian side. I have not lose a single one chopper. The only mistake I have done is to drop a squad one grid away of the position they wanted to land, because my squad leader was to busy to put me marker. And they were land in a safe zone. They start complaining and bitching me at how I was stupide and not able to fly... Result for me in a rage quit. These kind of thing realy ruins a game for me.I think our standards for gameplay are subconsciously getting unrealistically high, to the point where we get massively frustrated when something doesn't go our way. This is something I think everyone should read. PR may not always be perfect, but it's a heck of a lot better than anything else at the moment.jerkzilla wrote:I think our standards for gameplay are subconsciously getting unrealistically high, to the point where we get massively frustrated when something doesn't go our way. Re: PR Bf2 Dying?? :(
Overall, I blame it on the players themselves(us) We dropped the ball, we're not as disciplined, focus, serious, don't teach newbies,(Then again, it falls on them if they derp around all round...) The players is what is ruining PR. We need to step up and get back in the game(no pun intended XD)Brainlaag wrote:10.000 INDIVIDUALS per week. My 50 cents on the topic:
The PR active playing (!) community did shrink, indeed. There's no point in denying that. Although, we have to give credit to the DEVs and the players that this mod did age rather very well.
If you try to ignore the fact of the diminishing player base, however, you're delusional. An ever shrinking player base is clearly diminishing the odds for good quality PR game rounds. I guess that's probability calculation.
In the end it all boils down to either you have already left PR or you're still playing it.
I don't play it anymore because in my view the odds are I'll stumble into a boring or frustrating round. And the waiting times for a new round are growing larger with every PR release.
I regret this situation very much because I had some epic gaming experiences since 2007 with PR.
