Hello,

Depending on your CPU and PSU you might be able to save some money and simply upgrade some components instead of building/buying a whole new PC.

What CPU do you have exactly? Phenom II X4 (model number)?

What PSU do you have?

And your video card is definitely in need of an upgrade to play Arma2.

Your motherboard
ASRock > Products > M3A770DE

Cheapest solution is to buy an upgraded Phenom II x4 , a new Video Card, and a new PSU.

The best one is thePhenom II X4 980 Black Edition, but there are several options.
The best video card is up to you.
The PSU should be at least 650 Watts if you buy a powerful video card.

Your mainboard is fine.

As for GPU I would recommend AMD 6850 - $170 or 6870 - $190 preferably.

Litoralid already suggested CPU and I agree with it - Phenom II X4 980 Black Edition - $190

Sum is around $400 so you got a room to get a SSD if you like. That will boost your fps pretty much

Newegg.com - OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ~ $170

You might get a decent cpu cooler and OC that CPU a bit to give it additional boost.

Edit: Forgot PSU...you will need roughly 600W power supply unit not more than that. 500W is minimum.

The GPU and CPU upgrades above sounds good, but honestly I don't recommend upgrading to an SSD yet. As we all know the performance increase is minimal over time(As they get used more, they become slower at finding the space to store). SSD's will become a lot cheaper in the coming years and I hate to recommend something with a small benefit when it costs so much!

It can't make games play better (ok ARMA2 on very high, maybe...), but it will decrease load times of everything, however not many people care that much to spend $170 on it :) . Just my opinion though, and slightly factual.

If it were up to me, I'd spend that extra 170 and get an Nvidia 570 GTX instead. Although then again the 600series is rolling out slowly :P . PC components are an ever evolving waiting game...

May help you in choosing a GPU for ARMA2.

Although keep in mind they're using an Intel i7-965 processor :P . So don't expect those frame-rates, but expect close.

I want SSD chips to read as fast or faster than SRAM

I am not sure what currency the ?600 is but I would highly recommend no less than Intel 2500k for PR:A2.
I had Phenom II 955 clocked to levels of 980 and it just wasnt enough and it was a constant struggle with the FPS. 2500k + Z77 mobo and a new gpu (6870 would be fine) and you are ready to davai.
