PR:Vietnam Syndrome
Al right, since the release I shoot at almost everything that moves and doesn't calls out on mumble. I don't trust the bushes and on Tad Saea I keep spraying with my M60. Every time I shoot some Chinese guy, a full squad appears behind me. Am I the only who suffers from this syndrom? It seems that they are everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE!

What's that tactic used in the Vietnam war where you would see a squad of US soldiers standing side by side walking forward spraying everything in front of them on a field. I watched a documentary and I know there's a name to that tactic but I don't know what it's called. It wasn't spray and pray.

We all know that the US were fighting against the Vietnamese, but these guys were talking Chinese for sure![R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:Chinese? Lol.

Re: PR:Vietnam Syndrom
lol, yeah, the american team often seems to be less able in communicating and coordinating assaults with a lot of squadleaders making deep forays against non or uncaps. new player syndrome?
Also I noticed a lot of Fob's being built next to flags, which renders it unspawnable in my experience (quite sure I read something about this in the manual).
Even so, the chaotic nature of this kind of warfare and the increased difficulty to effectively identify other players (due to comparative uniformcolours ingame and the low prevalence of binocs) adds massively to the vietnam experience!

I think you're describing Reconnaissance by Fire.randeDANDE wrote:What's that tactic used in the Vietnam war where you would see a squad of US soldiers standing side by side walking forward spraying everything in front of them on a field. I've certainly noticed the volume of fire being a lot higher in these engagements. I like it.

Without much chance of being killed by a long range precision shot (from a scoped rifle for example), suppression plays a bigger role in moving the front line up. You are often unable to see your enemy in the thick overgrowth, so aiming is relied upon much less as "spray n' pray" is more effective.

I haven't slept since it came out. Been having flashbacks too. I walked over 3 guys in a bush on the first night, turned around and got knifed. It's not cool man. not cool

I've learned in this mod lonewolfing is much, much easier because of how easy it is for people to get lost and how easy it is for someone to hide.
I've literally taken out entire squads on my own because they didn't have the reaction time.

There is a great video of someone hitting supplies on Barracuda using enemy kit and getting over 20 Kills.
I'm in love with PR:V

Incorrect to the best of my knowledge. Fobs are spawnable regardless of placement, assuming that they've not been overrun or built within the last 2 minutes. Having a fob right on a flag does present the very real danger of having your spawn overrun every time the enemy mounts an assault, however.Wakain wrote:Also I noticed a lot of Fob's being built next to flags, which renders it unspawnable in my experience (quite sure I read something about this in the manual).

Well since the Americans are better off not going into the forest, the only place where they can build there FOBs is at or near the objective.

Probably because almost everyone is spraying at everything I see, especially on that night map. And when you don't spray, the odds are big that your ammo guy is killed before you can get to him.'Limeni[BiH wrote:;1757216']One thing is interesting, I run out of ammo very often and that's something that never happened in regular PR, and I like it![]()

Chinese advisers? Lord knows they were there. Plus, it's a game guys, you don't have PTSD or any other form of post-combat syndrome.

But we can still speak of a syndrom, since we were not talking about the things above!TheOldBreed wrote:Chinese advisers? Lord knows they were there. Plus, it's a game guys, you don't have PTSD or any other form of post-combat syndrome.

It was called mad minute I believe. Similarly to the British world war one tactic.randeDANDE wrote:What's that tactic used in the Vietnam war where you would see a squad of US soldiers standing side by side walking forward spraying everything in front of them on a field.
