I'm currently reading this:

It's a pretty interesting account of SOG ops in Laos.

PM me if you'd like a Kindle loan.

I've recently finished reading a book called The Vietnam Years By Michael Caulfield. It shows both the soldiers point of view and also the view of those opposed to the war at the time. I should also mention its from an Australian point of view.

Matterhorn by Karl Marlantes. Absolutely unforgettable, extremely realistic novel about a fictional company of Marines assigned to capture and hold a hill in the middle of nowhere that they both fortified and later abandoned to the NVA. Great look at the best and worst forms of leadership.

Often listed by critics as one of the best novels of 2011.

After a long (and unintended) break from reading about Vietnam, I am currently getting through The Cage: An Englishman in Vietnam by Tom Abraham. Good reading so far.

Written by Peter Scholl-Latour, a franco-german journalist about his experiences as a soldier in the French Forces and later as journalist in Indochina. Provides a rather indepth view into the Indochina conflict, firsthand experiences and a good, entertaining read.
Has the bonus of featuring not only the american vietnam war but also the french colonial and vietnamese/chinese conflicts that are usually less of a focus in western media.

Read this several times in german, can recommend it to anyone in that version, the english version should be the same.
