Vietnam needs work But is a awesome mod
Hello everyone I usually command a squad under the same name DaveBowman88 just to build some rapport with the people here. I would like to make some comments about the PR-NAM mod that i have very recently played a lot. I will list via a numbered list
1-The barracuda map is good but the control tower is ridiculous, it has become the CAMP THE CONTROL TOWER MAP. that building in reality would be leveled after 3 CAS strikes but instead the whole map is assaulting the airfield, any other attempt is futile and the reality of it seems non-existent.
2. The grenadier kit for NVA is worthless, but i understand we are in beta so that is a small issue.
3. The m14 seems to be far superior to the m16.
4. The Vietnamese access to supplies does not seem accurate with the real world war where 10,000 tons of supplies were moved a month by the NVA.
5-Why do the maps never involve insurgency, very obviously a lot of Vietnam was hunting caches and determining populous from combatants.
6- Since the maps involve more hills and terrain, the revive option seems to fail more often then usual; probably based on terrain not mechanics.
7-Like said in many threads the tickets seem to be low causing shortened game time.
On a final note I wish to display my endless admiration for the people that created this game and mod. PR is the best game out, no questions asked, and the Vietnam mod is no exception to this statement. The goal of the game is realism and the object of the people who play is FUN. The PR team has made a famous mod and I want everyone to know brilliance is behind its design. I do not mean any of my suggestions to be seen as flame comments as the pr mod is still the standard. I wish to know how players feel about my comments and I understand any criticism direct at my comments. The mod is great, the game is great and all is still good in my view of the game. I only wish my post to be constructive nothing else and I really want to hear from you fellow players out there.

True a NVA insurgent kind of map could be fun ... one day.
Medic skills are needed more on the PRV maps that for sure, use mumble to find body, use patches/resus to move the body more etc etc.

It'd probably be best to just make new maps. Hell we even asked the community to make some prior to the release of PR:V. Did anyone step up. Nope, if you want maps then please learn how and try to make them.

oh god why... :'( i feel ashamed by your message. Not really, but I have at least 2 ideas for maps that I would definitely need to sit down and just work on them (if I could get my d@mn editor to work) but for now until about June, I have to focus on school. I think "patrol" would be a better game mode than insurgency.
The US could be dropped in by huey and walk in squads in the jungle through areas of heavy foliage just waiting to be ambushed by VC (if VC are ever included). There would be no capture points, no respawns and the US would be trying to make it to a random extraction point that the VC only had a vague idea of location-wise. The rounds could be short-ish and the winning condition would be any surviving US making it to the extraction area.

Dosent sound very entertaining. Normal insurgency mod with VC sounds good to me. But im sure the devs already have this down. They just need the maps. "Just" is probably a wrong word to use ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Please, if a single player is implemented, just take some map and put some viets there (with the old waypoints), all you do on single player is shoot bots and no work is needed on things that don't help the multiplayer experience.андрей_111 wrote:Good afternoon. please tell me Single player will be in the game?

A fitting stopgap loadout for the VC grenadier would be ≥6 frag grenades IMO. I love the "toy gun" he receives. My squad and I found it very amusing and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing it as an alternate of another kit- the same goes for the currently crewman-only Grease Gun.
I recall the PT boat of the US can't take much punishment before exploding. Might need a tweak.
