Dien Duong Insurgency - Feedback

Vietnam Insurgency. It was requested by many members of the community, so we decided to add an Insurgency layer to Dien Duong.

Some of you have played it already. If you did, please share your experiences here. What was awesome? What was lame? What could be improved? How different is it from normal Insurgency? Etcetera.

I had no possibility yet to play PR since Vietnam release, tell me AfterDune, is it like the NVA defending EXACT the same cache-models like in other Ins. maps? Cause then, "Allah Cola" makes no sense at all! xD

I only played it yesterday (as US SL), it was really good, even though we lost the game (5/7 caches destroyed). Unlucky for us we spent many time without gaining intel because 2 spotted caches were destroyed in the same time after a long fight (ensuing a ticket-costly and inefficient errancy across the map).

About the map balance, I was surprised to see the attack huey disappearing from the layout, especially when the big-***-two-barreled-tank is still present to rape the infantry. The US has to attack with less firepower (M113 APC < BTR-60, no gunship...), which is kinda unusual on insurgency maps (even though they get a slight advantage when it comes to infantry weapons IMHO... M14 :love: ).

The map itself fits perfectly the insurgency gameplay, while I was afraid that the open ground would make caches too easy too find, we sometimes had to check every bush in the 35m radius to find them.

I'd happily play it again, hopefully the US can get a slight buff to outgun the NVA (which is one of the basic of insurgency mode) in the next update (M48 tank anyone ?). In the meantime, I'm sure we can still see US team win on this map, it's definitly more balanced than Korrengal valley for example.

Yep, for now it is. It'll get updated in the future I'm sure. Right now we're more interested in the gameplay.

we played it yesterday on our server.

nit is right, one attackchopper for US would be nice.
but the other m60 gunships are perfectly for the recon job. it was easy for them to spot groups of nva and to look for cache positions.

it is a very new type of insurgency gameplay. love it.


PS:
i have to add:

get the new PR:V beta 2 lads! when we changed the map there were only 20vs20... i mean after 15 minutes the [NEW] server was full again, but people complained about pr crashes in mumble...

Logistic for blufor are a great problem on this map, constant ambush on the road out of the main base are killers ... since as a VT you can drop a few supply's on the mountain and camp there with a hat and lat, the road is narrow and the vehicles are slow perfect combination for ambush...when i do it blufor guys go crazy and when they do it to me i go crazy hehehe.

i think this is the only map where the insurgents overpower the blufor with assets ... blufor needs helicopters for transport ... so the match can become more interesting and fast phased ...

strangely the map overview shows that the US have choppers. but i never saw then in the insurgency mode

The helicopters were removed, as it was far too easy to spot the caches.

If it wasn't for the c4 chopper drop thing i think would balance things out...

Because this insurgents have APCS and that AA vehicle any of them is better than the US APC...they can defend well against mortars, can request kits on the cache... and of course it's easy to ambush american vehicles leaving the US main base.

So far i never lost as NVA and never win as an American...
