Well, that might work but still no. PR physics don't allow dogfighting, there is no skill whatsoever involved, whoever sees someone first, is dead. Cannon only fights would probably be way more interesting but still with these physics it's only about who gets on whos tail first.

AA missiles are not a bad thing always, in BF2 pro level they were still used somewhat in dogfights. I'll drop a video of Zennappi (BF2 and BF3 dogfighting legend).


It's from END's perspective but you'll see Zenn locking onto him couple times =)

To make dogfighting happen in PR we'd need completely new physics for the jets.

They need to be remaked. Current ones don't allow any manouvers would actually work, the jets turn incredibly slow. They need to make the jets turn way faster. Or then implement a corner speed for fast turning as in BF3, although thats not realistic. They should just put back the jet physics from BF2.

The fact that there is no way to escape your opponent unless you're in the Eurofighter or J-10 needs to change.

The jets are also too "rigid". You can't make any kind of hard turns or loops, unless you're in the Eurofighter or J-10, of course.

It has to be harder to lock on the opponents jet, or the flares' efficiency has to be increased quite a bit. I also think the speed of the AA-missile needs to be decreased, at least the acceleration of it.

If your in a J 10 its not dog fighting. It's steamrolling.

Speaking or jets maneuver ability, I was talking to a good friend a few days ago who flies Eurofighters and he was saying how to do a sharp turn he was told to throw on full speed break followed by full afterburner with the break still up. It would put the aircraft in an incredibly sharp High G turn.

I don't think we will be seeing any of this in the bf2 engine. But then again, the devs are always creating new stuff that is said to be impossible.

In my opinion, just making the jets more manouverable will make timing and skill come into play on staying on a jet, or getting away. Currently jets don't react very quick, so even if you are slow on the turn, or not as skilled as the other, there is a lot of room for error and time to make up to stay behind the other jet. To get a jet off you the one behind currently in PR needs to make a major mistake, and thats if the missiles don't kill you in the first second.
