I'm about to buy BF2 but first I aw wondering if people still play this mod daily. Do more people play the regular or Vietnam version? How many servers or people are on average playing PR?
This has been asked in the past but I just want an updated player count. Also, is everyone left extremely high-level pros or are there still new players coming in like me?

Re: Still a stable population?
Vietnam is part of the regular version more like an addon
and yes plenty of people play BF2PR
there are plenty of help to new players when joining a server
as for players per server it can range from 64 (usualy) to over 100 players (also depends on the server)
hope that answers some questions

Moved this to BF2 General Discussion.
Yes there are still plenty of servers at any time. Take a look at PRSpy, there are about 300 players right now, split up to 10 servers.

to reiterate about PR: Vietnam:
You download PR: Vietnam files and then all you do in game is join a server running a PR: Vietnam map, or perhaps the server will run a PR: Vietnam after a normal PR map.
Also, a falklands islands & WWII mini-mods are being worked on and have gone through public tests.

Lots of noobs, or else I wouldn't be able to get so many melee kills.Sergeant_Yo wrote:I'm about to buy BF2 but first I aw wondering if people still play this mod daily. Do more people play the regular or Vietnam version? How many servers or people are on average playing PR?

I would say around 2-3 US servers are popped during peak times (above 40-50), during low pop times only one will be popped.
I don't know about European servers, but they seem to generally keep a solid popped server all day/night.
PR: V isn't played much, check back for 1.0 when it's integrated into PR and there isn't this funky separate updater that needs to be used to play.

So it's out of the list.
