So what's the current status?

Post by Stockypotty »

"when it's done it's done" I know I know, but is this still going ahead?

I know we have people working on various things. We waiting for those to be done?

It's going really good, I think we might want to release it after PR 1.0 though. So it doesn't get burried by "Normal" PR. Also it will give us the time to finalise everything :)

Let's see...
  • We have several defects we need to fix. At the moment nothing too serious, should all be good.
  • We're working on getting the new C-47 planes working properly
  • Finishing up the maps re. statics and such
  • Need to go over the gameplayobjects some more. The paratrooper layer of the Overlord map needs a better flag layout for example
  • Have to fix up some deployables
  • Trying to get the Bazooka and Panzerfaust in-game. Must-haves ;)
  • Fix up the M1 Garand sight (it's too small now)
  • Work on the ship cannons. Looks like this atm (this is a Photoshop image though):

  • Make Normandy PR v1.0 compatible, so if we release before v1.0, everything will keep working when v1.0 is released :p

i think it would be better to realese with 1.0 just because it wouldnt require to be downloaded separateda and more people would play it regularly, instead of just sometimes when you warn everyone about it

I doubt that's going to happen. Normandy doesn't have the same quality as PR. Of course it would attract more players to PN. For now, it stays a separate minimod.

Awesome fantastic guys! Thanks for the info rather than just saying "when it's done".

I didn't even realise PR 1 was coming out soon, I shall check into that.

Also the main way this mod will keep alive is by weekly events. After the initial surge it will die down, and so we need clans like PRTA to host weekly events. Similar to what they did last time.

Thanks again guys and good luck with it all!

Yes, "Soon" :p

going to be quite hard to pull that one off from what I can see, as even if you can get it working, all the gameplay differences are going to be quite big between the two which won't flow well? Simplest thing may be to plan a patcher right after its release?
