Hi all, Got a problem. I was getting the md005tool error message on some servers. Spoke to some of the players and they recommended uninstalling and re-installing.
Well I've done the following:
Uninstalled BF2
Unistalled all PR assets
Re-installed BF2 and 1.5 patch.
Re-installed all PR assets.
Ok the problem. when I try to load Part 1 of the 3 part download it won't load as it keeps telling me I don't have 1.5 patch installed which I do. I even tried to reload the 1.5 patch and the patch is telling me I have a more up to date version. CONFUSED!! I thought 1.5 was the most up to date and the only BF2 stuff I've installed is the original game and the 1.5 patch.
Can someone please help. I uninstalled because of the md005 tool error. Now beginning to wish I hadn't. I am in UK.

Re: MD005 tool error
I actually got this very same problem a little while back! I originally just reinstalled pr but it made a complete hash of it (look
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... ellow.html )
anyway I can't remember for sure what I did, but I'd recommend setting up vanilla bf2 first, running it and getting all the settings etc. right, *then* installing 1.5 patch. Then running vanilla again to get it used to 1.5, then install pr after that. It may not work but I'm pretty sure that's what I did so try it![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
hope it works!

Vanilla is a Term used for an unmodificated version of a software. For example vBF2 or vanilla BF2 is the pure game without any mods installed.

Like I said:sapper1893 wrote:I've done a re-install due to md005 error now nothings working. I've just uninstalled and re-installed BF2 I've just tried loading the 1.5 patch and it is telling me I have a newer version installed How can that be?
1. Wipe everything. Then install standard BF2 as it is on the installer CD.
2. Play a game of normal BF2 (single player will do). You seem to have missed this.
3. Install 1.5 patch.
4. Play normal BF2 again.
5. Install the latest PR and open it up!
That should work... If the 1.5 patch still refuses to budge, go inside the CD and find the 1.4 patch installer. Install that and wait for it to complete, then repeat from step 2.

You almost got the right order.Psyrus wrote:No, what you misunderstood is that you can't patch straight to 1.5
You have to:
- Install BF2
- Patch to 1.41
- Patch to 1.5
- Install PR parts 1, 2 and 3
- Load up VBF2 and login to a profile to create the appropriate settings' files
- Load up PR & play
