26th Marine Expeditionary Unit

WHO WE ARE

Originally founded for ArmA II, the 26th MEU is a tactical realism unit which is now looking to expand into BF2 Project Reality. The unit's organization is based around real-life US Marine Corps structure. Although the 26th was founded fairly recently, the unit has rapidly grown to include over 40 current members, and continues to search for new recruits to join its ranks.


WHAT WE DO

Being a realism unit, the 26th offers weekly to bi-weekly serious events which can be anything from training sessions to original scenarios. Outside of official events, members are encouraged to play together in public matches. Besides Project Reality, there are many other games that members of the 26th enjoy playing. ArmA II, Garrysmod, Minecraft, and Mount & Blade are just a few of the unit's off-duty favorites.

• Project Reality (0.973)
• PR Mumble (1.0 beta)
• Teamspeak 3
• Anders Sound Mod 0.5 [optional]
• Functional microphone

Personal

• Patience, maturity, discipline
• Willingness to work with others
• Willingness to follow USMC-based etiquette
• Regular Teamspeak activity
• Ability to attend most weekly events
• Basic fluency in English

Yeah, I knew there was at least one older unit by the same name, but since the other 26th MEUs appear to have been disbanded, I didn't think this name would be much of an issue. If there actually is a legitimate problem, I'm sure we can work something out.

It shouldn't be a problem with you using the 26th MEU name, As the former CO of the 26th MEU i have no problems with you using this name, I can't see why any one else should either.

Guys, maybe join one existing units or something... Really, no point baking milsim clans that dont even get decent numbers. No offense, but seriously, can you provide some competitive gameplay? Because maybe creating a clan that combines few real life elements that actually work and show some fight would benefit community way better. Like people would join such clans and the level of gameplay would increase.

Still, I'm not a judge, so its up to you what you do with the clan. Just saying my opinion.

I do see what you're saying, but there was actually a decent amount of thought put into the reasoning behind setting up yet another BF2 R unit.

Since we already have an established playerbase in ArmA II, we figured it was time to begin reaching toward the BF2 R playerbase, seeing as a fair amount of people who play ArmA also play (or might be interested in) BF2 R. Personally, I see a BF2 detachment as a great way to introduce PR to my friends both in and outside the 26th, to expand the 26th as a whole, and of course it's a new way to increase the members of the 26th and develop the unit further.

So, all things considered - the 26th will be sticking around on the BF2 scene, and in fact the unit's got several new recruits already.

Theres literally 10s of units with only 1-2 members. Instead of making a new unit and renaming it once a week, wouldnt it be better to merge existing units and actually get something done instead of being a waste of space? Not saying you are necessarily, but theres a lot more that are :X

Theres not 10 units with just 1-2 members, thats over doing it dont you think?, Besides he claims they have a playerbase on arma 2 as well. So he sure do have a clan beside him .

Ae do indeed have a playerbase on ArmA II, which will soon be participating in some sort of full year RP-deployment with many other units. If that happens to interest you, join up and I'm sure the ArmA II squad would be just as glad to have you as we BF2 people would xD

Yep, it's completely separate. All other 26th MEUs that I know of are disbanded.

Golding you know better, now you made yourself and 3AIU look bad. And you don't want to make A.Finest look bad.

You know that he asked the 26th MEU to join an alliance of realism clans? He is not recruiting individuals, merely giving the 26th MEU the option to join their alliance for larger battles and such. It was formatted in a bad way, so it was not that obvious.

I did rephrase it all, but I do think it is the same message:
