A lot of people complain about how the Brits have an advantage over Argies due to a closer aircraft base. Using these steps, you can get from Argentina to the combat area of east Falkland in less than 1 minute of flight time.
1. Immediately after takeoff, angle up to nearly 90 degrees for maximum rate of climb. *Use Afterburners*
2. Level off once you hit 4300-4500m in alt (the higher you climb the faster you can go)
3. Hold afterburner. Your max speed should be 3500-3800 at which you should hear the engine sound change as you go "supersonic" or into "warp speed."
Not only can you use this tactic to get from and to base faster, but also to escape pursuing bogeys.
Thanks for reading.

Happens with all planes afaik. After certain heights they speed up considerably.

You also can lose control of the plane at a certain altitude, and only by slowing down can you regain any control.

I would recommend climbing at 45degs myself so you don't waste so much time climbing directly up ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
I personally prefer to fly low, even if the Mirage is much better tactically up high, I find I'm far less likely to be spotted with the camo blending into the terrain and I can spot enemies more easily, but sucks if they see you first![Razz :p](./images/smilies/imported_icon_razz.gif)

Eh, Im not too worried about getting shot down in the Mirage 3. The Mirage blows the Harrier away in climb speed and flares seem particularly effective in Falklands mod, not to mention planes seem to be able to take several AA hits now. I find I am able to simply outclimb any Harrier behind me.

While yes, you can run away easily, that's only if the harrier gives you a chance and if the harrier gets the drop on you your most likely dead if the harrier pilot is any good.
And Mirage, while has slightly more HP than the harrier, can't take any more hits really, its simply of the AA exploding too far away from you to do any damage (they have proximity fuses and get as close as they can before exploding, if they detect the jet getting more distance between them and the target, like if they overshoot, then they generally explode). A direct missile hit to any plane will out right kill it, just with the way the damage and missiles have been set up that its unlikely to get a 100% direct hit, especially with the Mirage and its speed.

Re: [Guide] Mirage "Warp Speed Engaged"
90 degrees is optimal I think, considering the circular path youll have to do to level off, and the MASSIVE speed increase, further still gravity doesnt really seem to affect climb rate all that much.
Ill run the numbers later
