Crash to desktop when loading in to server

Hi guys,


I ran the PRV_Updater to bring my vietnam up to date and now it seems I can't join regular 'Beta 2' servers anymore. As soon as the loading finishes and it's verifying client data, I crash to desktop.

Did the vietnam updater update everyone's installation to the latest one with charlie's point etcetera? If so, can the serverfiles for that be made available to the server admins in the control panel? On my server I installed the serverfiles from the license panel yesterday so they should be up to date.

I don't have the answer, you'll probably need a direct response from [R-DEV]AfterDune on this one.

Save some time and help him out, answer these questions:
Does regular PR work?
Did you try to upgrade from PR:V v1 to v2 to vFinal all in place upgrades?
Or from v2 to Final?
Or just tell us your upgrade path.

You probably already have all the installation files on your PC, it might be as simple as uninstalling the PR:V Final files and reinstalling. BUT WAIT FOR [R-DEV]AfterDune to respond, before you start deleting files.

I can play PR just fine, I can play PR:V just fine on Charlie's point servers too. I first installed Beta 1, then upgraded to Beta 2. As far as I know I couldn't play on PR:V beta 2 servers and then I tried updating with the PR:V updater program to fix it but now I still can't play on Beta 2 servers.

To be honest, the PR:V files are a bit of a mess with a beta 1, beta 2 and PR:V updater program out there which seems to update to PR:V Final but there are no serverfiles available for PR:V final.

I know, as a volunteer tech support guy I still haven't wrapped my head around the differences, though mostly due to my own lazyness.

Need to install Beta2 and Final, then
Need to pull up Winmerge and compare the directory structures and file differences.

Don't want to spend the time to do it.

The updater has pretty almost always been broken. We didn't use it.

So you're now on the most recent public version, however you keep saying:

I don't know if there are still any beta 2 servers, but if there are, it makes sense you can't play on them because FINAL is newer than BETA2

Yes, but for final there are no serverfiles available apparently and I want to run vietnam on our server.

How do I go about this?


Edit: to clarify, I have downloaded the most recent PR:V files form the server license control panel but they don't work with the final version.

Yes, that's right, the final files are still under development and will be released with PR 1.0.

The only server that is running the final server files is 762. I think there are some bugs to fix, that we have to test.
