Logitech G930 - Microphone transmitting

Post by saXoni »

So I bought myself a new headset today, the Logitech G930, pretty much the G35, just wireless. It seems to be working fine, except from the microphone which is constantly transmitting, meaning I can hear myself talk when the microphone is on.

I have checked the settings in windows to see if that's where the problem is, but it's not.

This is irritating and seems unusual and wrong. Anyone know how to fix this?

And you've got the latest software and checked it both through Windows sound options and the Logitech panel?

This might not be the fix for you but I'm pretty sure this is the only windows build in option for this:

it's in dutch but the principle is the same. go to your recording devices. right click your mic and go to properties and go to the second tab called 'listening' or something and make sure the option is ticked off.

But it could be something headset specific too.

I already checked that Mineral, that's not what's causing the issue.

Yes Shock, I've got the latest software and checked Windows' sound options. The Logitech panel too, for that matter.

There are lots of posts/threads about this problem on your headset around the internet. Lots of different fixes too. The most common one I saw is changing/turning off 'sidetone' within the logitech control panel.
Others say to boot up the computer with the USB reciever in.
Or run the logitech software as Administrator.
Best line yet...

Thanks guys.

To be fair I didn't reboot my computer after the setup of the headset was completely done, so a reboot might just do it. I did play a bit of PR with the headset, and I could only hear my briefly when saying "s" or other words with a sharp tone. It's actually not as annoying as expected.

In other words; if I can't find a fix for it it's not that big of a problem, and the fact that all the other things with the headset are awesome, it's fine.

I will look for some fixes around the internet though, SnipeHunt.

Thanks,
saX.

lol just realized you answered what I asked you in the original post. I'm a doofus.

Anyway, I've got the same headset but my issue is any audio that isn't coming through a game (eg iTunes, Youtube) is crackly.

Really good headset indeed, but I don't see the transmitting to be that big of a problem. It is really low, and you can bearly hear yourself, and if it annoys you just try and push the microphone further away from your mouth, or push it up to mute-state.

Yeah you're right Jack. It seemed really annoying before I actually tested it in-game.
