PR 1.0 , File verification error 1301 [SOLVED]

Post by Pusc.IT »

When i click "play", the launcher stops on file verification for about 20 seconds, then this message pops up:
------
File verification Error
1301: Unable to contact verification server. Please check your internet connection and try again.
------
Then i can choose "OK" and it return to the Launcher's menu, or "SKIP" and it says that if i skip file verification i won't be able to play on public servers.

All my firewalls are offline and i experienced it while talking on teamspeak, and everyone assured me that i wasn't lagging at all.

I tried to update the launcher, but it states that i'm running on the latest version (1.015 i think).

Any ideas?

Please keep retrying to update

otherwise, uninstall PR_Beta and
reboot
verify your torrent integrity
delete Documents\ProjectReality folder
reinstall PR_Beta
do NOT import profiles from PR0.981
manually enter username and password
attempt to update again.

The joys of Beta testing.

Done everything you said, i retrieved my account with Gamespy, i still get the same error and it keeps saying i'm running the latest version. I searched on google "PR 1.0 error 1301", looks like i'm the very first guy to get this error, did i win anything?

Thanks for your time Litoralis.

I agree with previous poster, I dont understand how to solve the port problem. Have 2 bf2 accounts and PR 1.0 on both computers and its only one that says the 1301: error.

So please explain how to fix the portthingie ..cause I have no clue how to do it.

Found the solution !!!

You have ports blocked, either through a software firewall or hardware router, of the ports used to query the master server list on the gamespy network.

Particularly to your problem you need to open this port:
28900 (Master Server List Request)

Other ports that could be opened:
- opening the following ports
UDP: 1024-1124,16567,27900,28910,1500-4999
TCP: 1024-1124,29901

For me personally it was enough to open 28900

Go into Windows firewall, double click, click Exceptions, choose "Addport", name port to whatever u want, add portnumber: 28900 on second row... TADA!!!

Tell me if it solved ure problem :)

Hi

Do i need a port end? and what protocol? (I'm doing it through tp-link) because stupid Norton 360 has taken all control of the firewalls.

It didnt help opening port 28900, neither the TCP or UDP port. It didnt help disabling the firewall altogether either.

Also need to open 29900 , gamespy uses that for server browser functions ingame. I forgot if tcp or udp and not in front of my usual PC. can't check. So add both. :P

you have to provide info on the manufacturer and exact model of your router. Differs by router.
