No In-Game Audio

Post by Desekratorz »

Hi, I just got the PR mod for BF2 and right when I join a online server my In-game audio cuts out and go's silent. I can still hear the voice chat but nothing else, can't play the game cause having no audio takes my Situational Awareness and throws it out the window. Tried Deleting the Document's/Project Reality folder and re-importing my BF2 account to PR but that doesn't work as well. Someone PLEASE HELP! :(

When I joined a regular game everything is fine, all audio a okay. I seen In a forum a guy that had a similar issue and the person recommended
1. Start vanlla BF2.
2. Edit Audio options to select correct audio output
3. save changes and test
4. exit vanilla BF2
5. delete documents/projectreality directory
6. start PRlauncher,
7. reimport your vanilla BF2 profile.

I tried it myself but with no prevail.

You know about mumble right?

Join a game, alt tab, and then in your taskbar you should see a mumble icon... open that up and make sure you're not muted, keybinds etc are setup

I think hes saying that he cant hear game sounds so Mumble is not a problem. Well it just might be.

1. Open Control Panel or right click on Speaker icon in systray, you need to go to sound control panel and do this.

2. Start PR Launcher and go to Option, then on PR Mumble tab. Click on launch. When it starts go to Configure > Settings and do this for both Input and Output ( untick Exclusive and check if system is set to WASAPI and to speakers and MIC you're using.

If this isn't working for you check if you Profiles folder is not set to read only, and that you're running PRBF2.exe, BF2.exe, PRMumble.exe and PRLauncher.exe as administrator.

One last thing. While PR is running, alt+tab to desktop and right click on speaker icon in system tray selecting Volume Mixer. PRBF2 should be in the list, so check if its not muted or lowered all the way down.

I think you had the right diagnosis MaSSive, he had split his audio playback between system sounds and communications devices, and had the communication device set to exclusive control.
