I would say dont be afraid at all to throw more edgeloops at the mesh at this point and nail those curved surfaces. Looking good though! nice meshing.

Hey!

@Mikrowaife: Already did ;)

@Amok@andy: I don't know if there is any use for this helicopter in a modern war scenario. The first and last time a slightly different version of this helo saw action in a major conflict was in Vietnam. But sure, if anyone can use it I'd be happy to contribute. Of course I'd need to finish it first but I'm still determined to do so :)

@Tim270: I threw some more loops at it ( :) ) at the nose, top and rear area. I'm quite happy with how smooth it looks without having used any modifier. The cockpit and passenger area is still detached from the rest of the model. That's the reason for this hard edge on the right side of the cabin.

I'm quite impressed with that. it looks quite optimized and low-poly while still giving all the detail it needs. Impressive :D

Looks like some pretty awesome work to me! Only area I'd be concerned about is below where the tail joins the frame. I don't quite know what it looks like irl, but I think you may have a small smoothing problem there? Other than that, great stuff. :)

Thanks for your answers :) If you mean that slightly shady zone below that bulge where the tail joins the frame - that's intended as you can see in the picture:

Smoothing groups should be fine there:

Also started to work on the cockpit:

I see there are new modelling talents emerging :smile: .

Now its my turn :wink:
The positive about being retired is that I had finally more time to practice stuff like high-low poly baking:

Just amazing,
if you had placed a few wrinkles in the fabric I wouldn't have known it was a render.

thanks for sharing!
