Played Ia Drang a few times now.

1. M16 is weirdly and completely unrealisticly overpowered. I got killed multiple times when somebody 1 shot hip fired me (no, I wasn't hurt before).
2. Mosin Nagant sometimes just doesn't work. I can take down 3 enemies 150m away running, but when I camp behind a rock and shoot at somebody 20m away walking directly towards me (I take the time to aim in the middle of his chest) nothing happens. I can't blame it on the netcode because it happened at least 5 times now.

Vietnam is great but needs more work and fine tuning. Also more servers need to run different Vietnam maps.

Hard part about running different maps is that Vietnam only gets three maps, Ia Drang, Charlie's Point, and Hill 488. Most people don't like Hill 488 and Charlie's so as a result of democracy Ia Drang is played most of the time.

The atmosphere isn't there, there's no greater value than I've expected it to be tbh.
Like I said, it's just as if I'm playing USA vs Militia. The maps look made in a rush in one day just for the sake to release it.

The gameplay isn't fine-tuned to a Vietnam-feeling. Vietnam used to be the dirty war where Americans died because of their M16's being jammed, because of the diseases spread by climate and circumstances, Vietnamese being killed with napalm and chemical weapons used on crops to torture and target the civilians and the Vietcong, civilians being terrorized. Guerrilla warfare.. That feeling is not present in game. Games like BF Vietnam and Vietcong did have this.

Muttrah, Karbala and Iron Ridge for instance, are maps with a good value. They're playable, and the atmosphere is always good. Vietnam maps are just randomly placed trees for me with an extra of "new assets that can be wasted".
The maps don't have strategic places that are worth holding, fighting for or defending them.

I'd expect Vietnam vs France, Insurgency maps with Vietnamese civilians, poisonous/deadly booby traps, secret tunnels, certain enemy kits being able to pick up as it was in real life, better ambient, Thompsons, M1 Garands, etc..

This is as constructive I can get, it may even sound offending.

Again, no disrespect to the DEVs, I can imagine how hard it is.

I think it has really good atmosphere, i think you may be disliking it because not many people do very well on that map (ia drang), life expectancy is short.

I like it. It's a shame that it doesn't get voted for a lot. I was an NVA medic a few days ago on Ia Drang. Our squad and another were holed up on a hill trying to prevent the US from getting somewhere. I can't remember what the details were, but I was constantly busy healing people up and dodging bullets. Most memorable moment during that was when US air flew over us and started dropping bombs and napalm on everything around us. Fire and smoke everywhere. It was amazing :D

Is there a reason the huey now has a HUD? I think it was perfectly fine before it just ruins the immersion now.

Hill488 is one of the best maps in PR. Intense, close-up jungle warfare. Because of the vegetation its very easy to flank enemies on this map which makes covering all directions important.

Charlie's Point: It's really great, it gives me the Vietnam feeling, no clue why, maybe because of Apocalypse Now. I think it's a great map, even though it's a little too difficult for the US Army to win. Removing the NVA BTR would balance this though.

Hill 488: Love it, no complaints at all, based on my own personal experiences this can go either way. PBRs are awesome and so is the map.

La/Ia Drang: It's surprisingly balanced and, as a guy who loves the smell of napalm in the morning, I have to love this map. Plus, nothing's cooler than pilots playing "Fortunate Son" over local in mumble.

Dien Duong: Unfortunately, it's underplayed, and I have too little experience with it to make an opinion on it.

Tad Sae: Even though this is my least favourite map, for reasons I can't explain, it's still the spookiest. Everywhere you go as a US Marine you fear that there might be a Vietnamese in a bush, watching you, just waiting to strike.

Operation Barracuda: Even though I've never seen the USMC team win on the Vietnam layer of this map, I've always had a good time. Epic helicopter insertions, epic ACT siege attempts. Map is simply epic, even though it doesn't give me that Vietnam feeling, it's still a great map.

As for the future, I'd like to see a Hue map and an Ashau valley map. I feel like a mash-up of insurgency and AAS would really work for the Vietnam sub-mod, and I'd love to see it.

In my eyes, vietnam army is like insurgent.
I guess Charlie will add jets in the future for balance? It's just hard for the US to win to be honest.

Tad Sae: Definently the scariest of PR map. Never is played for w/e reason! :(

Op Barracuda: I find it better then the Normal PR. Since it's actually possible for the USA...
You have to have a crappy NVA team to lose on this map. Since it's pretty Namish Fealing. But have the US ever fought The NVA on a island?

Charlies Point: Definently my fave for NVA. SInce it's a guarenteed Victory.
I do not like the fact NVA gets to spawn at the first Obj. It's rediculous. You have to have a CRAPPY NVA team to win.

Hill 488: Definently my fave. Balanced Both ways.

Ia Drang: Don't like it at all.
There are really no real cover areas or any good things to control. No offense but it's poorly made imo.

We have at least one new map in the pipeline, which focuses on heavy assets. It's not ready yet, but it's being worked on.
