I know what Rhino is talking about. I know aircrafts are neat in general/irl. However, this will look very 'cartoonish' ingame. You see, in reality you have a lot of other effects on the paint like shadows, reflections etc.

But you can't simulate this on your texture, so thats why it looks 'different / neat' to us. I would rather add some shadows here and there, hightlight some points of the texture. It gives a more realistic effect and with that also the 'used' look effect.

I made a very quick edit to show you what I mean:

Ye, an AO Map would help a lot on its own even.
