Crash to desktop.

Post by novaboydie »

Hello, after the servers closing for BF2 etc, I wanted to give PR a try seeing as this mod has it's own servers now.
I have done a fresh install of BF2 via origin, downloaded the full pr ISO (latest edition). Install went fine, created a new account logs in fine, get to the video dog tags fade away, then I get a crash to desktop.
Restarted in windowed mode, get a crash again but this time I get a debugging message,
Request is invalid due to an invalid game spy URL.
I have tried logging in with firewall disabled and antivirus disabled, administrator mode and compatibility mode for win 7.
Is it my hosts file? Thought that PR. Used its own servers and not gamespy?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Could you screen-cap that error message?

On your keyboard, hold ALT and press PrtScn which is next to the ScrLk above the keyboard arrows, go to paint, paste, save it, upload to an image site like Postimage.org - free image hosting / image upload

Next to 'Thumbnail for Forums (1)', click on Copy to Clipboard and paste here on reply.

When you went to the Settings, you tried clicking on videos and it displayed that error right?

Was there text in that setting page when you opened it? Because for me, I had to select my profile, and then wait until there was text for like 20 seconds.

Do you have ReviveBF2 i.e. battlelog.co installed?
They edited your HOSTS file, you have to manually delete stuff to get it to work atm.

Info here:
Battlelog.co - Forums - Lost ability to play on Gamespy servers as well a
