Re: Show your models thread...(IMAGE HEAVY)
looks good
what renderer did you use? its not mental ray...very glossy with the material...not as real looking as vray or arnold.
maybe just 3dsmax software?

Toolbag 2 (realtime) had to make a very quick scene using generic gloss map etc so it is very far off real values.

Doing some little test renders. I'm on a game team this semester and we're doing some fun cel shaded stuff.

Obviously not mine, but I thought I'd put this here, as I was looking up flak cannon operation videos and found this channel on youtube! My god, the detail put into modeling on each of these is amazing, hahaha. I've watched the flak 18 and the Mosin Nagant videos so far, very very interesting!

Trying to get this elcan modeled
https://sketchfab.com/models/e2bbf1d2c1 ... d2ed#share
it's going good, so far, there's a lot of weird stuff with this scope, like both sides not being totally symmetrical, and the lack of reference images, so it's mostly modeled with 2 pictures and watching youtube videos on the scope. Anyway, I need help with the battery compartment, I haven't learned a proper way to extract a cylindrical object, while keeping it's integrity in with turbosmooth on.
edit: welp. that was really silly of me, must've been coming down my coffee crash, all that was needed to be done is to weld/delete the extra verts

Re: Show your models thread...(IMAGE HEAVY)
Can anyone help me, im trying to get back into modelling but I used to have this website which I got all my reference images (side, top, front etc) for weapons, tanks, planes etc.
I cant remember for the life of me what it was called. It had a massive range of reference images available, from WWI through modern day for a huge range of nations.
Anyone know it, or something similar?
EDIT, nvm, it was Blueprints.com lol.
If only id waited that extra 30 seconds for me to do another google search...

Sometimes things take their time
Dusted off some older projects. I found the OH-58C I started about two years ago. (https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f388-p ... ost1961378)
After many hours spent with mesh optimization unwrapping and skinning, this is where I stand. Still needs more details and dirt.

Hey Andy! I never was too active posting but I read a lot here Tri count is around 15.5k. I put a lot of polys into the main and tail rotors since I wanted to animate them properly.[R-DEV]Amok@ndy wrote:ha meerchi i knew it was you have seen you posting in the News thread.

Nothing planned so far. Just did it for fun. Yet when I think about it, it would be a shame if it just rotted on my hard drive like most of my other stuff

Pretty much finished the exterior and began working on the interior. Yet there is already another project on my mind and a shitload of reference pics on my camera's SD. I hope I stay strong and finish the helo first

Playing with some textures. Have to refresh the texture skills a bit for other models. Here we have SISU SA-150.

9K111 Fagot - soviet ATGM. Developed in 1970 for soviet army. I participated almost in all armed conflicts from 70th years till present especially in Syria civil war
if I finish it, then I would like that it was fired only lying, I was heard that it realizable, but new animations are necessary. I would like to give it to such fractions as Militia, FSA, probably Russia
P.S.The form of the rocket of model and form of the rocket in photos are various because the form depends on shell type
