Public Italian Server

Post by Chip0 »

I played there a little yesterday, at 20PRT/22 CEST, peak time for Europe.

There were no admins and Mumble was offline; server is stuck on Asad Khal AAS atm.

Lot of new players, lot of teamkilling in IDF base.. sadly, it was impossible to play PR properly.

Afaik, neither EI nor ITW (established Italian clans) are the owner of this server.

I would suggest to the server's owner to contact the aforementioned clans for help and support.

Hi Chip0,

I have noticed that server too. First it's just for 64 players, and that sounds wired. I didn't have any opportunity to join that server, however =ITW= are open to any kind of collaboration, if needed by the server owners. If you read this post, feel free to contact me by PM or simply join our TS3 server ts3server://ts3.gamehosting.it?port=10030 or website Italian Warfare HQ | a Project Reality Italian Clan

Ciao, il sono il proprietario del server. Spiegami pure in privato qual'e' il problema e cerchero' di risolverlo. Mumble e' attivo e testato.

Il server non e' legato a nessun clan, l'ho messo su e reso disponibile gratuitamente.

Hi, i'm the server's owner. Tell me in pvt what's the problem and i'll try to resolve it. Mumble is active and tested.

The server is not under any clan, i put this server online for a free game.

Servers must be administered otherwise its unplayable and leaves a very bad impression on new players and damages PR reputation. No server at all is better than an unadmined server. Thats why we turn off the NEW server for example if the last admin leaves the game at late hours.

Please get an admin team together if you want to run the server.

I've already contact Webking by TS3, for some support, now i'm working on the server (upgrade kernel and some issues about Mumble).

ANYWAY it's impossible monitoring H24 the server, now: tk punish is enable, voting is enable, prism and autoadmin are enabled too.

If there is a list of banned hashes i will a pleasure update my banlist, i can't do more.

I think the most important thing is what Spook says indeed. As you say, adminning 24/24h is for most servers not possible. That's why it's important that if your admin staff leaves the server, they communicate this to the players , and then they should shut down the server, so that nobody is left there with no supervision or assistance.

Perhaps you should also look into setting up a little website for people to post reports, ban appeals etc. There they should also find your server rules, which you should also look into setting up :D

As you see it's no easy task running PR servers, it's a rather demanding job. But with a bit of help from the IT clans I'm sure this can become a super server!

If you insist on keeping a server contact ITW and EI for help! They are nice Italians (Amigo's!) with knowledge of the game and the community. It allows new players to have the actual PR experience. If you aren't familiar with it and the admin duties needed to achieve the game-play quality like on NEW/MeRk/PRTA then you should definitely contact other parties to support you. In the end nobody benefits from a 1 man ran server with poor rule set, bad game-play.
We are staying up!
